SepticSmart Week 2026 is next month: September 14-18

This annual event occurs the third week of September. Communities, national organizations, local groups, and state governments can bring attention to the importance of caring for and maintaining septic systems by organizing homeowner education events, sponsoring workshops or sharing social media from the SepticSmart program.

Check out and share this Quick Tip #2 Video "Don't Strain Your Drain" to remind homeowners about the importance of using water efficiently, staggering water use of water based appliances, and using energy efficient appliances. The video comes from the US EPA website which has a ton of information you can use for outreach and education.
