In Silistea (Suceava County, Romania), a widowed mother is raising her sick son alone in a dilapidated house, humbly bearing the cross of loneliness and hardship. Hunger there is not only physical; it is a deeply painful and constant burden. Florentina is a mother of four, and her situation is truly heartbreaking. The youngest child is only a few days old. ROUA was able to provide them with some material support, including: hygiene supplies, food, a birth kit, a layette for the baby, a stroller, a baby bath, clothes, shoes, and toys for the other children. These brought moments of relief and comfort, but their needs are still overwhelming. The next step is to support the mother with a survival kit in the coming months, as well as with long-term food cards, because their financial situation is truly dire and uncertain. Bianca is 21 years old, from the village of Cocani (Dambovita county, Romania), and her situation is desperate. She is a young mother fighting for her child’s survival. With no food for her baby, Bianca has repeatedly begged the child’s father for help, but received none. She has tried to find work, but nothing allows her to both earn income and care for her son. Overcome by fear and hopelessness, and unable to provide even the bare minimum for survival, Bianca finally reached out for help—and that is how she found ROUA.
