5 years ago today, we pulled out of Afghanistan. Hold close your combat Veteran. This is a very hard day each year that passes. Call them. Do a buddy check. Shout Out! Show the love.

All gave some,
Some gave all.
Today in Georgia we lay our own to rest. Prayers for our Country and his family

“Tyler, we are proud of you beyond words. Devastated, yes, but prouder still.”

On Friday, Georgia will say goodbye to 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, the 25-year-old soldier killed in the July 18 missile attack in Jordan.

Tyler made the most of every day.

He loved people.

He loved animals.

He was kind, gentle, adventurous, and committed to serving others.

Whether he was mentoring the soldiers under his command, hiking to Everest Base Camp, or walking the Camino de Santiago, Tyler lived with purpose.

His parents say no family could have asked for a better son.

They write that carrying his legacy forward is now their purpose.

To do that, they’re creating a scholarship for current and aspiring ROTC cadets and service members, using Tyler’s military death gratuity to help others pursue lives of service, leadership, and education.

Governor Brian Kemp has ordered flags across Georgia to be lowered Friday in honor of Tyler’s life and sacrifice.

Visitation is Thursday evening at Woodstock Funeral Home, and his funeral will be held Friday at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

His family is inviting the community to line the funeral procession route beginning at 11 a.m. to help honor a young man whose impact reached far beyond his 25 years.

In one final message, Tyler’s parents asked that people remember not only the sacrifice he made, but also the way he lived, and “see the good this country still holds, rather than what divides it.”

We were honored to be a part of getting this Marine Veteran and family into their new apartment today! They were unexpectedly being displaced from their home recently. He, wife and 2 children under 5 are experiencing “Americana” move in day. Chaos, love, family, HOME.

Btw- wife/mother is within 2 months of giving birth to a new baby!

God Bless America🇺🇸

The DAE Compound serves rural Northeast Georgia communities with a focus on combat veterans facing housing instability, isolation, and despair. No man left behind.......

06/09/2026

When The DAE Compound was founded in 2017, it began with a simple mission: help people and never quit on combat veterans.

Today, we are proud to be a Georgia Continuum of Care member, an HMIS participating agency, and a partner in the State of Georgia Department of Community Affairs Balance of State Coordinated Entry system.

These partnerships allow us to better serve Northeast Georgia through outreach, assessments, referrals, housing support, and community engagement.

The mission has grown. The commitment has not.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey.
