As part of Commemorating Rev. Martin Luther King Jr's 1968 Grosse Pointe Speech event we invited Beth Widmayer. While unable to attend, she provided us her first hand recollection as a 10 year old of the work her parents, Jude and Ray Huetteman, did as principal organizers of bringing him to Grosse Pointe. A portion of her account was shared at Christ Church Grosse Pointe Episcopal last week.

As promised, please read the full account to understand how much has been overcome and yet the work we intend to continue. Thank you again, Beth, for sharing the courageous work your family and others did before us, while inspiring CHANGE IS THE POINTE going forward.
