Our banquet was a true who’s who event. It brought out some of Detroit’s most influential leaders including U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Abdul El Sayed, Chief of Police Todd Bettison, former Chief of Police and current President of DWIHN James White, Police Commissioner and community leader Darryl Woods, Judge Aliyah Sabree, Judge Karen Braxton, Judge Miller, Councilwoman Latisha Johnson, and Wayne County Division Director of Institutional Care Mack McGhee.

I am truly thankful for the support they continue to show our youth. Nights like this remind me that when the community stands together our young people win every time.

Check out the pictures.

Scared Straight programs do not work for kids.
Let me say it louder for the ones in the back: SCARED STRAIGHT PROGRAMS DO NOT CHANGE BEHAVIOR.

What does change behavior?
🧠 Therapy does.
❤️ Relationships do.
👀 Modeling the right behavior does.
🌱 Putting young people in environments where they can thrive does.

One intense talk or emotional moment isn’t going to make a kid rethink their entire life. What changes them is consistency, care, and connection. Real transformation takes time, trust, and people who won’t give up on them.

Every young man in this picture has a story.
A story of resilience. A story of hope. A story that is still being written.

Each parent behind them carries a dream, praying their child makes it, believing that with the right support, love, and structure, their son can become everything he is meant to be.

At Caught Up Mentoring, we meet them right where they are. We listen. We guide. We love. We hold them accountable. And we walk with them through every challenge, every setback, and every victory.

This is what real mentorship looks like. It is not easy, but it is powerful. It transforms lives, families, and entire communities.

We are building young men who lead with purpose, faith, and integrity.
We are building hope right here in Detroit.

Your support helps us continue this work.
Because every story deserves a chance to be rewritten.

Last night was special! Mr. Knight took two of our Caught Up boys to their very first Lions game for Monday Night Football. Both of them are doing great in school and in life, and this was a chance to celebrate their hard work and give them a memorable experience.

Ally Bank has been one of Caught Up’s strongest partners over the years, and their support continues to make a tremendous difference. We are proud to announce that Ally has sponsored our upcoming banquet at the Gold Level ($15,000).

Their investment in our mission helps us continue empowering Detroit’s youth through mentorship, education, and community engagement. Because of Ally’s generosity, we are able to expand our reach and create meaningful opportunities for young people across the city.

Please join me in thanking Ally Bank for their continued partnership and commitment to helping us change lives through Caught Up.
