“You think you know how important this university is to us, but you really have no idea. There is nothing more important, nothing greater, you could have brought to our people than this training and this university.”

Those words from a regional leader in the Democratic Republic of the Congo captured something we witnessed throughout our recent trip: a deep hunger for God’s Word.

Across four cities, approximately 560 pastors and church leaders gathered for training, with leaders from five nations represented. We also distributed more than 160 projectors and 1,200 flash drives filled with biblical training materials.

But the numbers only tell part of the story. We saw tears, celebration, and a genuine desire to learn, grow, and take this training back to their churches and communities.

Why does Nation-2-Nation Ministries exist? Because Jesus told us to go.

Since 2005, our mission has been to see Christians around the world equipped for ministry, trained in the Word of God, and empowered to lead their communities out of spiritual and physical poverty.

We do that by coming alongside churches and Christian leaders with biblical education, discipleship, leadership training, and practical community development. Through N2NCU, leaders can receive training where they are and use what they learn to teach others, strengthen their churches, and serve their communities.

Because we believe the Great Commission isn't about building a ministry that depends on us. It's about equipping the Church to go.

When leaders are equipped, they can equip others. When churches are strengthened, they can reach their communities. And when Christians are empowered to live out the Gospel, the impact can continue from one person to another, one church to another, and one generation to the next!

DR CONGO: GOD’S FAITHFULNESS AT WORK

As we look back on this trip, it would be easy to measure its success by the numbers. Nearly 600 facilitators trained. But that number is only the beginning of the story.

The true impact of this trip will not be measured only by what happened during those few weeks, but by what God does through the leaders who were equipped.

These facilitators will return to their churches and communities with the tools to train others, creating a ripple effect that could impact thousands of pastors, churches, and communities for years to come.

We believe we will continue hearing stories from this trip for years to come. But beneath every story, every testimony, and every number is one greater story: God answered prayer.

He protected the team. He provided the right people. He opened the right doors. He gave strength through every challenge and removed obstacles before they ever became problems. Looking back, every part of this trip points to God’s faithfulness and His ability to accomplish far more than we could have done on our own.

DR CONGO: DIFFICULT ROADS AHEAD!

The mission continued beyond Kinshasa.

After the initial training, our team spent an additional two weeks traveling to more cities throughout the DR Congo to train even more pastors and Christian leaders. Everywhere they went, they found the same hunger: leaders eager to learn, grow, and equip others.

During the final week of ministry, Dr. Brick Cliff became seriously ill with malaria, typhoid fever, and bronchitis. For several days, all he could do was rest and pray. Yet the work continued.

The team was able to travel to the last city for the final training. Then came the journey home. With flights unavailable back to Kinshasa, the team faced an unexpected road trip. They spent hours traveling over rough roads, navigating around obstacles, and watching vehicles carry loads far beyond what they were built to handle. They even passed an overturned semi-truck!

Through much prayer, we saw God come through again. The team made it back to Kinshasa. Dr. Brick Cliff was able to rest. And the entire team was able to fly out together the next day!

DR CONGO: OPEN DOORS IN EUROPE

After training in Kinshasa, the team split into two groups. Our Local Training Program Director traveled to France and Belgium to meet with pastors and leaders interested in bringing the program to their communities.

These leaders have spent decades planting churches, raising families, and faithfully serving their communities. As they learned about N2NCU, the response was incredible. Many expressed a desire to begin Local Training Program schools in their communities.

Even the journey there required flexibility. A heat wave shut down train service in France, forcing the team to take an unexpected road trip to Belgium. It wasn't part of the plan, but God continued to open doors.

What began as a trip to train leaders in the Congo became an opportunity to connect with leaders in Europe who are ready to equip others. We are so excited to see what God does next!

DR CONGO: TRAINING IN KINSHASA

Our team’s first assignment was in the capital of the DR Congo, Kinshasa. Pastors and leaders gathered to learn about Nation-2-Nation and how they could use our program to train leaders in their own communities.

Many traveled long distances and made personal sacrifices, simply for the opportunity to receive biblical training.

The excitement and joy were evident during every aspect of this event—the worship time, preaching, break out sessions, and facilitator training. Leaders were continuously asking how quickly they could start schools in their communities and begin training others.

By the end of the training seminar, our team trained more than 200 pastors and bishops from five countries and regions across the DR Congo. We expect many schools to begin in these upcoming months!

One of the most unforgettable parts of this training was the Facilitator Graduation Ceremony at the end, where hundreds of people came together to celebrate those who had completed this training and were being commissioned to train others.

Government officials, denominational leaders, and ministry leaders were in attendance. It was an incredible time of worship! Our team even had the opportunity to share about Nation-2-Nation on national television!
