Tucker Center

Tucker Center The William Jewett Tucker Center at Dartmouth College More than 20 percent of Dartmouth's undergraduate students take part in our programs.

The William Jewett Tucker Center inspires and supports responsible leadership in students, faculty, and staff. Our programs offer opportunities to cultivate a sense of meaning and purpose through spiritual, ethical, and moral exploration and engagement. We encourage multifaith learning and engagement through our Multifaith Initiative. We look to build relationships through the exploration of the v

ariety of religious faith, honoring common ground and shared concerns while not shying away from real and significant difference. We also support more than two dozen diverse religious groups that provide opportunities for students to grow spiritually.

This past Friday, our interfaith advisor Ryan, and fellows Priscilla, Diya, and Nate, hosted Finished the year Friday, the final finish the year Friday of the academic year! Each week, students gathered for cake and reflections, at a place where they could sigh and sink into the couch, or perk up on the edge of their seat and make a new friend. It’s been an incredible year; onwards, to more cake, conscience, and heart!

Please join us this Sunday for a Picnic in Enzo’s Honor on Baker Lawn from 2–4 PM.

Everyone we’ve spoken to about Enzo (whether we knew them well or were meeting them for the first time) describes him the same way: full of energy and life, the kind of person who made every room feel warmer just by being in it. He had a gift for making people feel joyous, alive, and seen. And we think the most beautiful way to honor him is to feel exactly that way again, together. Because that feeling is where his memory lives most.

We ask that, if you can, you bring something that reminds you of Enzo — an object, a letter, a piece of music, a photo, a memory, anything at all (no limits!) — along with a few words about why it does. Everything will be gathered and kept in a box dedicated to his memory, a small piece of each of us, held alongside him.

The afternoon will include music that Enzo wrote and composed, a live performance by The Dartmouth Sings (Enzo’s a Capella group), lawn games, and Turkish food. This Sunday is a moment to come together, to share stories, to laugh and remember and to celebrate the warmth and spirit Enzo gave so freely to all of our lives.

We hope to see you there. Bring whoever loved him. And if you can, wear colorful clothes :)

With so much love,
Luca La Hoz Calassara and Asli Tavasli

Please note there will be two Celebrations of Life: one in Minnesota June 20th (contact Asli by clicking here if you want to come) and one at Dartmouth in Fall.

Goodbye Melinda!
Our incredible Office Manager Melinda Cooper is relocating to North Carolina, where she will follow her dreams and pursue a degree in Nursing!

For almost 5 years, Melinda has been a stabilizing presence at Tucker. She has held down the fort so to speak, keep staff on top of finances and logistics, making our center run with smoothly through turmoil and ease. She has also greeted students with palatable care, brought humor and her love of cats into our lives, and overall just made coming in to work more worth it.

We wish her all the best in her future endeavors, and wish her success and cat memes always.
