Good morning,

For you that don’t know, we have a new Engine setting in the station. The last few weeks we have been getting everything organized in to where it’s new home will be on the truck with in the next couple weeks after we get the new hose and dispatch radio installed. Then it will be in service. In mid January we plan to do a community open house to see the fire station and official pushing in of the new truck. If you are interested in helping out your community please send a message here or contact the Fire Chief Andrew Godfrey.

Meet our Staff

Firefighter/ Paramedic Cory Austin
Firefighter Austin came to work for Windsor Fire Department in March of 2008.
For Cory emergency services wasn’t so much a calling, it was a way of life.
Cory was born and raised in Vermont growing up in West Fairlee. His father was a firefighter for the West Fairlee Volunteer Fire Department. Cory was about eight years old when he began responding to fire calls with his father. He recalls how fun it was to ride on the tailboard of the engine (back when that was allowed). After high school Cory attended New Hampshire Vocational Institute where he studied fire science. After college Cory obtained his CDL and became a truck driver while volunteering as a firefighter in West Fairlee. In 2000 he was voted in as the assistant chief.
Cory obtained his initial Emergency Medical Technician certification in 2007 and came to work for us as a part time employee. In 2009 he was appointed as the West Fairlee Fire Chief. Cory has now obtained his paramedic license, and he is a permanent part-time member of our team.
In his downtime Cory enjoys working on his horse farm and attending his daughter’s rodeos.
When we asked what inspired him, he said “I love helping others. It is literally the reason I have continued for all these years”.
If you see Firefighter Austin around town, be sure to say hello!!👋
