The Hamtramck Federation of Teachers will not formally endorse any applicant for the school board vacancy. We do, however, encourage open-minded and tolerant Hamtramck residents to apply. The district is facing the fallout of poor decision-making by the board going back several years and we need steady and compassionate leadership to step up and serve.

Candidates need to be ready to roll-up their sleeves so that ALL students and staff can thrive - no matter their country of origin, their language, their racial identification, their gender, their religion (or lack thereof), or how they love.

We would like to make a clarification about the statement read at last night‘s (February 3) school board meeting.  we pointed too large monthly payments, made to a local newspaper. We want to clarify that the newspaper question is not The Review, it is the Yemeni American paper.
