🩸 Give Blood. Save Lives. 🩸

The Hampton Area Rotary Club NH is partnering with the American Red Cross of Northern New England to host a community blood drive, and we need your help!

Every blood donation has the potential to save multiple lives and ensure that hospitals have the blood products they need for emergencies, surgeries, cancer treatments, and more.

🕛 12:00 PM – 4:30 PM

🎁 As a thank you, all eligible donors will receive a $15 e-gift card from the American Red Cross.

One container. Thousands of mobility aids. Countless lives changed. ♿🌍

This week, Hampton Area Rotarian Dave Anderson rolled up his sleeves alongside volunteers from Rotary Club of S**o Bay Sunset and the team at Crutches 4 Africa to help load a shipping container bound for Africa with life-changing mobility equipment.

Together, the team packed an incredible:

✅ **1,162 pairs of crutches**
✅ **821 walkers**
✅ **79 wheelchairs**
✅ **788 canes**
✅ **149 walking boots**
✅ **37 rollators**
✅ **106 additional mobility assistance items**

That’s a total of **3,142 mobility aids** heading to people who otherwise may not have access to safe, reliable mobility support.

This shipment marks a historic milestone for Crutches 4 Africa — **surpassing 250,000 walking and mobility aids shipped to Africa**, creating opportunity, independence, dignity, and hope for individuals and families across communities. (https://www.crutches4africa.org/)

The Hampton Area Rotary Club is proud to welcome our newest member, Brit Ward, who was officially inducted at this week’s meeting.

Brit joins a dedicated group of local leaders, professionals, and volunteers committed to Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.” We are excited to have her energy, talents, and passion for community service as part of our club and look forward to the positive impact she will make in Hampton and beyond.

Club President John Nyhan and sponsor Joan Correll welcomed Brit during the induction ceremony, where she received her Rotary pin and was officially welcomed into the Rotary family.

This week, the Hampton Area Rotary Club was pleased to welcome representatives from Friends of Hampton NH Schools, a newly formed 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created by a dedicated group of Hampton parents committed to enhancing educational opportunities for local students.

Recognizing that school budgets cannot always fund every worthwhile program and opportunity, Friends of Hampton Schools was established to provide additional financial support for academics, arts, athletics, and extracurricular activities throughout Hampton’s schools. Their mission is to bring innovative learning experiences to students both inside and outside the classroom.

The organization is currently fundraising to support 6th Grade Environmental Camp and 8th Grade Washington, D.C. trips, while also working to expand future opportunities for Hampton students.

Thank you to our guest speakers for sharing their vision and passion for investing in the future of our community. We applaud their efforts to ensure Hampton students have access to enriching experiences that inspire learning, growth, and success.

As Benjamin Franklin famously said, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” We look forward to seeing the positive impact Friends of Hampton NH Schools will have on our students and community.

🇺🇸 Supporting Those Who Served 🇺🇸

The Hampton Area Rotary Club was honored to welcome Jeff Barker, COL, USAF (Ret), of The Local Veteran Inc as our guest speaker this week.

Jeff shared the inspiring mission of this local nonprofit organization, which serves disabled veterans in Hampton, Hampton Falls, North Hampton, and Seabrook. The Local Veteran, Inc. helps veterans facing the real financial pressures of everyday life, including property taxes, vehicle registration costs, and other expenses that can make it difficult to remain in the communities they proudly served and protected.

Our members learned about the organization's goals, the impact it is already making across the Seacoast, and how community members can nominate a veteran in need or support this important work.

Thank you, Jeff, for your service to our country and for your continued commitment to supporting local veterans.

Last week, Hampton Police Department and Rotary member Paul Sullivan presented a scam awareness program at the Hampton Senior Center, helping local seniors learn how to recognize and avoid telephone scams.

Did you know? Hampton residents lost nearly $1 million to telephone scams last year alone.

The Hampton Area Rotary Club was honored to welcome guest speaker Perry Newman, Executive Director of Konbit Sante, at our Tuesday meeting.

Konbit Sante is a Maine-based nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening healthcare systems and improving health outcomes in northern Haiti through medical partnerships, supplies, training, and critical support services. (Konbit Sante)

Perry shared powerful insights into the ongoing challenges facing Haiti and the incredible work Konbit Sante is doing to provide essential medicines, equipment, pediatric care, and healthcare support to communities in need.
