This is the lovely Priscilla! Priscilla is another maverick at Haven Acres this summer and we are SO thankful to have her on the team! Priscilla is an amazing human who is a total joy and ray of sunshine to be around. She's another one of those wonderful people who works hard, never complains, and is always ready to help. We can't say enough good things about her!

Happy Birthday, Priscilla! God has blessed the world so much through you and we are all lucky to have you in it. Thanks for serving out at Haven Acres and just for being you. We pray this next year, through whatever highs and lows God brings you through, that you will find strength, comfort, hope, and peace in Him. He says He will give you everything you need, so we pray you lean on Him and trust Him for everything. Hope you have a really wonderful day today!!

VERY SPECIAL DAY at the ranch today! We hosted our first baptism. Marissa, a volunteer that started coming to the ranch a couple of years ago, decided today was the day she wanted to publicly profess her faith, demonstrating that she intends to live her life to follow Jesus. Holly has had the privilege of spending a lot of time with Marissa, mentoring her in her faith. Several others that have had a significant impact in her life joined us to celebrate with her as well. Marissa, THANK YOU! Thank you for allowing us to have a small part in your spiritual journey and for being willing to be vulnerable and open in your seeking for purpose and meaning in life. Thank you for asking hard questions and being willing to seek Truth! And, thank you for now being willing to boldly proclaim your faith, shining His light wherever you go! We love you and are proud of you!

We have a last minute opening for a participant in our Deaf and hard-of-hearing program this summer on Monday nights from 5-6:30! This specific spot is only for a boy between the ages of 9-14 who uses ASL. Sessions will run every Monday from June 8- Aug. 31st. We have a dilemma... This super cute molly mule has been donated to Haven Acres on a trial basis. We're hoping she'll be a great addition to the herd and a wonderful part of our session program. She's very cute and has TONS of personality. The problem is that she came with the name Trixie, and we already have a Trixie, so we need to change her name. We have it narrowed down to Pixie or Ruthie. Put your votes in the comments below, and we'll make a decision before sessions begin on Monday, June 8th.

Sydney!! Happy Birthday!!

Sydney is a maverick out at Haven Acres. Mavericks are volunteers who help during mentorship sessions with keeping things safe, helping set things up, assisting other volunteers when they need things, and much more. And Sydney is an amazing maverick! Sydney is someone who always shows up when she says she will, works hard, and does anything asked of her without a complaint. She is brave, thoughtful, caring, patient, and much more. And she's really great with the horse stuff too!

Sydney, we are so proud of you. You are such an amazing human who has been such a blessing at Haven Acres and we are so thankful to have you out here again this summer! We pray that this year you "may have power... to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God" (Eph. 3:18-19). You are SO loved and we hope you know that better today and this next year than you ever have before ❤ Happy birthday!! 🎉

Today is Cameron's birthday! Cameron is one of our long-time chore helpers who gets up on Saturday mornings to scoop p**p no matter how hot or cold it is. He has also helped at our big fundraisers nearly every year. Cameron is hard working, thoughtful, kind, and fun to be around. We have loved having him around through the years and are so glad he still stays connected!

Cameron, you are an amazing person who we are so thankful for! Thank you for coming out and helping for so many years now. We pray that in this next year of young adulthood that you will grow in both confidence and humility, knowing that you have what it takes to be successful and also be able to ask for help. We pray that you have both the wisdom and the strength for every step you have to take this next year and that God leads you to a place of contentment and fulfillment. You are very loved! And we hope you have a great birthday!!

May 17th is the perfect day to highlight this amazing lady right here! Holly, Happy Birthday! You are truly a treasure to us personally and to Haven Acres and all the volunteers, kids, and families. I could not do this without you! Your love for the Lord and genuine compassion and concern for every one who steps foot on this property is inspiring. Your understanding of spiritual truth and the practical application of it is encouraging. Your ability to empathize with those who are hurting is admirable. Your commitment, dedication, and dependability are extraordinary. Your ability to manage everything from techy stuff to horse training to donor updates to volunteer training/scheduling to mentoring to caring for family and friends to being a youth leader at church to working another job to supporting and caring for me in my role as director but also as a friend is astounding. You are a crucial part of this ministry and my life. I love you and appreciate you more than you know!

In this year, may you find the Lord closer than He ever has been. May your trust in His plans and direction be strengthened and increased. May you experience His tenderness and care for you intimately. May He be the firm foundation that holds you steady. And, may His Word clearly light the path before you as you continue to seek Him first and always. (Matt. 6:33)

Happy Birthday, Jessica!!

Jessica has been a maverick out at Haven Acres for the last two summers, but has been involved with Haven Acres for MUCH longer than that, and she has done an amazing job out here! She is super helpful, responsible, cheerful, confident, and ready for whatever we throw at her. She has risen to every challenge we've given her with flying colors and keeps coming back for more 🙂 We have been so grateful for her!

Jessica, it has been AMAZING to know you for so many years and see so much growth in you. We have been so proud of you every step of the way. We pray that this next year continues to be full of growth for you--most importantly that you would "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18). That you wouldn't let anything get in the way or distract you from pursuing Him before all else and finding the joy and peace that only He brings. Everyone, meet our new staff member, Rebecca! She is our new Leadership Assistant who is helping out part-time with volunteer training this spring and with leading sessions this summer. Rebecca volunteered for us a few years ago and did an amazing job out here! She is passionate about ministry and using horses to show God's love to people. And today is her birthday!

Rebecca, thank you so much for serving out at Haven Acres! We have already been so blessed by you in the previous years and so far this spring and we are so excited to have you on the team. Praying that you would experience more and more peace as you trust God's plan and more joy and satisfaction in where He has you at in life than you ever have before. And praying that He would fill you abundantly as you pour into others! Happy Birthday!!
