Quad YouthBuild Quad YouthBuild is a youth and community development program that addresses core issues facing low-income communities.

Our mission is to unleash the intelligence and positive energy of low-income youth to rebuild their communities and their lives. Through YouthBuild, we hope to see many positive changes in Tangipahoa Parish and the surrounding areas. Quad YouthBuild serves 65 - 70 disadvantaged youth ages 16-24 from South Louisiana’s rural, impoverished communities. According to the Camelot Index, Louisiana ranks

dead last in the nation in state measures of economic vitality, education, health, crime and governance. Quad YouthBuild is extremely vital to the success of the youth in these rural communities as no alternative programs exist beyond YouthBuild to assist those young people who did not make it in the standard school setting. The disadvantaged, disconnected youth within these communities are at-risk for school failure, economic dependency, incarceration, and death as proven by the high poverty rates, high unemployment rates, and low graduation rates. Quad YouthBuild offers a quality youth and community development program that simultaneously address core issues facing low-income rural communities: housing, education, employment, crime prevention, and leadership development. In Quad YouthBuild, low-income young people ages 16-24 are able to work toward their GEDs, learn job skills and serve their communities by building affordable housing, and transform their own lives and roles in society.

🎉 Congratulations to Nathanael Helmer on earning his HiSET!

Not only did he earn his HiSET, but he also achieved the highest HiSET scores of any student in Quad YouthBuild history since the program began in 2009!

After graduation, Nathanael plans to attend Northshore Technical Community College or Southeastern Louisiana University to pursue a degree in Information Technology.

🎓 Congratulations to Jada Laird on earning her High School Diploma!

Jada’s journey has not always been easy. After losing her mother a few years ago, she faced challenges that could have easily stood in the way of her dreams. Instead, she chose to keep moving forward even though it hasn’t been easy.

Jada is now building a bright future for herself and is exploring plans to continue her education at either Southeastern Louisiana University or the Aveda Institute.

We are incredibly proud of everything she has accomplished and cannot wait to see where her next chapter takes her. Congratulations, Jada! Your YouthBuild family is cheering you on every step of the way. 💙🎉

In observance of Memorial Day, Quad YouthBuild participants will not attend on Friday, May 22, 2026, or Monday, May 25, 2026. The Quad YouthBuild office will remain open on Friday, May 22, and will be closed on Monday, May 25. Classes will resume on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

We are proud to congratulate Markia on an incredible accomplishment. At the time of graduation, Markia still had two HiSET subtests remaining. Instead of stopping there, she made the decision to keep showing up. During follow-up, she continued to come in, put in the work, and stay committed to her goal.

Today, we are proud to share that Markia has officially passed her HiSET. Markia finished what she started, even when it would have been easier not to.

We are incredibly proud of you, Markia. This is a big win, and it is only the beginning.

Congratulations to Marques Maklary on successfully passing his HiSET. Marques is a true example of what it means to finish strong.

As he prepares to take his next step by joining the military, we could not be prouder of the path he has chosen. His willingness to serve reflects courage, discipline, and a desire to build a strong future for himself while contributing to something greater.
