The Lions Connected program emphasizes the importance of all individuals receiving a personalized post-secondary education.

The mission of Lions Connected (LC) is to provide young adults with Intellectual Disabilities (ID) an inclusive college experience while preparing them to become contributing members of society. Our students are enrolled in college-level courses, which are centered around their interests. While taking courses, our students are joined by their mentors. The mentors are there to guide, help, and support our students with their coursework, homework, and campus activities. Each semester, each student will develop the skills and concepts needed to succeed in their community.

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month!

This month is an opportunity to celebrate the abilities and accomplishments of individuals with Down Syndrome to raise awareness and foster inclusion. More importantly, it’s a reminder that inclusion means creating spaces where everyone is welcomed, valued, supported, and given the opportunity to reach their own goals. 💙💛

We’re so grateful to have our students as part of the Lions Connected family and to get to celebrate all of the things that make each of them uniquely themselves.

Thank you to Southeastern University Police Department for giving our students the opportunity to visit and learn more about campus safety! We got an inside look at how UPD operates, learned how different safety tools and procedures work, and discovered the important role our officers play in keeping campus safe. 🚔

And, of course, no UPD visit would be complete without meeting a very special member of the team… 🦮💚

We’re grateful to UPD for welcoming our students, answering their questions, and helping them learn how to stay safe on campus! 🎓🦁

Our students got hands-on in the kitchen during Life Skills class!

Of course, every chef needs an apron! A special thank you to N-Stitches for embroidering our Lions Connected aprons and helping our students look the part while they learn! 🦁👩‍🍳

We’re so grateful for the community support that helps make experiences like these possible! 💚

Today, we get to celebrate someone who means so much to the Lions Connected family!

Dr. Reno makes every student feel seen, supported, and believed in. She celebrates the little victories, encourages us through the challenges, and always reminds our students just how much they are capable of. 💚

Lions Connected wouldn’t be the same without her dedication and the countless little things she does each day to make this program so special.

Happy birthday, Dr. Reno! We love you!

THANK YOU, LIONS! 🦁

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared our posts, encouraged others to give, and supported Lions Connected yesterday. Your generosity is helping us get closer to our goal of a 16-passenger van and closer to creating even more opportunities for our students. 🚐

Because of YOU, our students can continue to build friendships, grow their independence, get involved in the community, and create memories both on and off campus. 💚

We are so grateful for everyone who continues to believe in our students and in what Lions Connected is building. Thank you for helping us connect, belong, and thrive! 💪

It’s Giving Day, Lions! 🎉

Today, we’re asking our Southeastern community to help us reach a goal that will make a BIG difference for Lions Connected: a 16-passenger van! 🚐

A van means more than transportation. It means more opportunities. More community outings. More job and volunteer experiences. More places to learn, grow, connect, and make memories. ☀️💼🎭

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us get one step closer to making these experiences possible for our students.

Help us go further, together. 🦁🚐

Giving Day is only 2 days away! ⏱️🦁

Lions Connected is an on-campus organization that provides students with intellectual disabilities an inclusive college experience while preparing them to become contributing members of society. 🎓✨

But we want to expand these opportunities beyond our campus! 🌎

This Giving Day, we’re raising funds for a 16-passenger van that will help our students access more community events, job opportunities, volunteer experiences, educational outings, and so much more. 🚐☀️

Every donation brings us one step closer to opening the door to more experiences, more independence, and more opportunities for our students.

Help us get there! Together, we can help more students connect, belong, and thrive. 🦁
