Thirty-plus years of tradition in the field! 🦌🌿

This past weekend, eight young hunters headed out for the annual Cooke County youth hunt in Sivells Bend. For over three decades, this hunt has connected local youth with hands-on outdoor mentorship, fi***rm safety, and wildlife conservation.

Cooke County Game Warden Stormy McCuistion led this year’s hunt, working alongside retired Game Warden Darla Barr, several assisting area game wardens from Denton, Tarrant, Collin, Grayson, and Montague, and a very special guest—retired Game Warden Jim Lundberg, who founded this hunt more than 30 years ago!

An event like this doesn't happen without community support and great neighbors. Huge thanks to Sivells Bend landowners Kelye Stites, Rick and Sandy Mobley, and Brad Teel for generously opening their gates and giving these kids an unforgettable experience in the Texas outdoors.

Passing down the heritage, one hunt at a time.
