🐴 **A HUGE THANK YOU FROM SMC LAEG!** 🚨

On behalf of the entire SMC LAEG Rescue Team, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Rebecca Gimenez Husted of Tlaer, Incorporated along with her team members Russel, Vic, and Mark, for providing an incredible four days of Large Animal Technical Rescue training at Ember Ridge Equestrian Center!

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, practice, and strengthen our skills through hands-on training and valuable instruction. These four days were an amazing learning experience, and the knowledge and techniques we gained will help us better prepare to respond when large animals need our assistance.

We would also like to give a special thank-you to Al Filice and Sarah Doolin-Filice for their incredibly generous donation of equipment and for sharing their knowledge and expertise throughout the training. Your generosity and support mean so much to our team!

Thanks to the instructors, supporters, and everyone who made this training possible, our team is better equipped to continue training, developing our capabilities, and responding to future large animal technical rescue incidents.

Thank you all for investing your time, knowledge, and resources in our team and in the safety and welfare of the animals we serve! We truly appreciate your support and look forward to putting these skills to work when they are needed most. 🐴❤️

Equine owners!
It's not too early to prepare for floods!
Keep this helpful pamphlet from UC Davis Weill School of Veterinary Medicine and WIFSS with actions equine owners can take to prepare, respond, and recover from flooding events.

Flooding can be dangerous not only for horses but for ranchers and their employees as well. Six inches of moving water can topple an adult, and as little as 12 inches can sweep a vehicle off the road. Additionally, flooding can impact equine facilities with structural damage and loss of feed, leading to severe economic losses. This pamphlet describes actions equine owners can take to prepare, respond, and recover from flooding events.
