is excited to welcome its newest member - Spaulding For Children-Michigan.

Founded in 1968, Spaulding for Children was created to ensure that no child is overlooked — pioneering adoption for older children, children with disabilities, sibling groups, and others long considered “unadoptable.” Today, it is nationally and internationally recognized for advancing permanency practice through innovative services, training, and consultation — helping redefine who is adoptable and what families need to succeed.

We can't believe our time together in has already come to a close. Thank you again to Christina Gullo, MBA, SHRM-SCP, MSW and Michelle Lee, MSM with True North Executive Solutions for leading alongside the last few days. Your passion and commitment to helping organizations achieve strategic clarity through a deep analysis and actionable recommendations to align people, culture and systems were clear as you intentionally supported this day and a half event. And thank you to all of the leaders who took time out of their busy schedules to join us. We hope you will continue to take in all that you learned, remembering all of the leaders around the rooms, seated next to you, sharing many of the same challenges and an unwavering commitment to improving outcomes for children and families. We see you, we honor you, and we will continue to support you in ways that amplify your impact! “Whatever the problem, community is the answer.”

Exploring topics connected to sustainability, workforce effectiveness, risk management, accountability, outcomes, governance, strategic decision-making, and board-executive partnerships, the FFTA 2026 Leadership Summit was designed to help build healthy, resilient organizations and leaders to withstand uncertainty while continuing to support the workforce, maintain strong operations, and continue serving children and families well into the future. And some of the most valuable learning happened in between sessions as attendees connected with peers from organizations, teams, and roles similar and different than their own.

Thank you to Dawn Hunter for the time to reflect and imagine what taking the next best step looks like individually and collectively as we each return home. We appreciate you taking into account what you heard in the rooms throughout the summit, truly lifting the voices of the leaders and speakers present, and providing things attendees could takeaway and implement. Hosted as a post-summit opportunity for the FFTA 2026 Leadership Summit, began its inaugural Senior Leadership Collaborative (SLC), bringing together 8 of the 13 senior leaders joining SLC from across the country. Senior leaders play a critical role in translating vision into action while leading programs, operations, workforce, finance, clinical services, and organizational initiatives. The Senior Leadership Collaborative (SLC) brings together senior leaders from across FFTA Member organizations to connect with peers, share insight, and explore emerging challenges and opportunities. Through ongoing learning, discussion, and relationship-building, participants strengthen their leadership capacity while advancing the work of their organizations and communities.

Thank you Christina Gullo, MBA, SHRM-SCP, MSW for partnering with us, facilitating, and being such a huge part of what this 12-month collaborative will produce!

We're so excited to be in Day 2 of the FFTA 2026 Leadership Summit, centered around one theme: Leading Through Complexity: Strengthening Nonprofit Leadership for What's Next. And we believed three core pillars were essential to effective nonprofit leadership in today's environment:
1️⃣ Adaptive Leadership: How We Navigate Change
2️⃣ Resilience and Sustainability: How Our Organizations Endure
3️⃣ Impact and Systems Influence: How We Shape the Future

The purpose of this Summit is not to pretend that there are easy answers. Instead, it's to create space for honest conversations, shared learning, new perspectives, and practical strategies that can help us navigate what comes next.

The FFTA 2026 Leadership Summit breakout sessions provide opportunities for leaders to share what's working in their organizations but also to talk about what's difficult, ask questions, and challenge assumptions. Because while they may not be able to control every challenge their organizations face, they can influence how they respond, support their teams/communities, and lead their organizations forward. And just like our Keynote Speaker, Tony Moore, “smooth seas never created skillful sailors.”

We appreciate Tony for encouraging each of us to have the Courage to L.E.A.D.: Live Your Values. Embrace Your Purpose. Attend to Your People. Deliver the Goods. Learn more about Tony here: https://www.tonymoorespeaks.com/meet-tony-moore.

Just checked in our last attendee for the FFTA 2026 Leadership Summit in and kicked things off with our Executive Director, Ryan Dowis', welcome remarks! We can’t wait to connect with 100+ leaders from different organizations, teams, and roles across the country. Stronger leadership isn't built in isolation. And we are so honored to provide the space in partnership with True North Executive Solutions for senior/executive level leaders and boards to explore today’s most pressing topics, discuss what's working, develop solutions, and build relationships with people who understand the work that they do. We won’t just be talking about leadership, we’ll also be transforming what it looks like in the process! Stay tuned!
