At Transition Professionals, we work with individuals impacted by the criminal legal system who are pursuing employment and building their futures. Employers can create meaningful opportunities by considering each candidate’s qualifications, experience, and potential.
Our JOBS Program—Job Opportunities for Building Success—is funded by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL). We connect employers with job seekers receiving career preparation, training opportunities, and ongoing support.
Your new hire has a team behind them. Our support continues after placement. In partnership with each participant, we address barriers such as transportation, work clothing, and identification, supporting their goals and continued employment.
Hiring partners receive:
✅ Recruiting and candidate referrals at no cost
✅ Connections with candidates pursuing training in trades, hospitality, healthcare, IT, and business
✅ A dedicated team to coordinate referrals and follow-up support
✅ Assistance exploring fidelity bonding and wage reimbursement, subject to eligibility and applicable approval requirements

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

This month, we’re taking a moment to recognize the importance of safety, healthy relationships, and support within our communities.

Abuse is not always physical. It can take many forms, including emotional, verbal, psychological, financial, or intimate abuse, as well as other forms of control or harm. Recognizing these signs can help create greater awareness and open the door to support.

Support can start with listening, believing, and being there without judgment. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, support and resources are available.

As Hunger Action Month comes to an end, the need for food support in our community continues every day. 🧡
Not everyone has access to a kitchen, which is why we work to keep grab-and-go food available for neighbors who need it.
You can help by donating individually packaged snacks, shelf-stable drinks, microwavable meals, or gift cards.

A food drive does not always look successful at first.
For Hunger Action Month, our case manager Emily Shinn organized a drive for ready-to-eat and microwave-friendly food. Many of our clients are unhoused, couch surfing, or living in rooming houses without access to a kitchen. Even when they receive food assistance, finding meals they can store and prepare remains difficult.
Emily and our interns made posters and set up a collection table. No one stopped by that day, and they felt discouraged. But Emily had also shared our clients’ specific needs on Bergen County's OASIS Insight Bulletin, where Carmine DeMarco of The Food Brigade responded with an offer of donations.
This week, we picked up The Food Brigade’s generous donations and had the opportunity to speak with Karen DeMarco about their work in our community. The Food Brigade has graciously offered to continue supporting our clients, and we are deeply grateful.
Thank you to Emily for recognizing a need and taking action, to our interns for their hard work, to Carmine, Karen, and everyone at The Food Brigade for their generosity, and to the Bergen County Office of Food Security for helping make this connection possible. What seemed like a quiet food drive has grown into a continuing source of support for the people we serve. 🧡
