Best Buddies Friendship Walk will be May 3 at Josh Reddick Stadium from 2:00-4:00. Opening ceremonies begin at 2:30, and the all-inclusive walk begins at 3:00. All students with a parent chaperone are invited to attend free of charge for snacks and fun! This is a slow, inclusive walk. It is not a 5K. The rest of the time includes fun stations and games for all. Siblings are allowed to attend, as well. This is open to the community. 💜

Today is March 21st, which is World Down Syndrome Day. We celebrate it on this day because people with Down syndrome have three copies of their 21st chromosome, instead of two. Since chromosomes look a little bit like socks under a microscope, people all over the world wear their brightest, craziest, most colorful mismatched socks to show that different is awesome!

Down syndrome is just something some people are born with. It might mean it takes them a little longer to learn new things or speak clearly, but they have the same feelings, dreams, and talents as everyone else. They are our friends, our classmates, and our neighbors. So support your friends with down syndrome and wear your silly socks! 💙💛
