Here’s a few more pictures from Coffee wth a Cop day at BiG. It was such a fun learning experience for our Citizens … I’m sure the police officers all learned how awesome all of our Citizens are too!

Sending BiG thanks to the Gurnee Police Department!

Our Citizens welcomed several officers and detectives from the Gurnee Police Department today for “Coffee with a Cop” day. They were especially happy to get to meet Mira, the police dog who was so calm and friendly.

The goal is to build trust, share open dialogue, and connect police officers and community members in a casual environment. The officers answered many questions from our Citizens. It was a great experience and we are so grateful for their time and service.

A big thank you to our amazing volunteer Heather! 🎨💙

Heather recently shared her artistic gift with our Citizens, introducing them to the bold colors, shapes, and lines of Wassily Kandinsky. Our Citizens learned how Kandinsky believed color could express feelings and even music, and then they created their own vibrant masterpieces inspired by his work.

The creativity, joy, and confidence in the room were wonderful to see. Heather, thank you for your time, your talent, and your heart for our Citizens. You help us live out our mission of Changing the Way the World Views Those with Disabilities every day.
