Sometimes, we all need a "God moment". Long read but well worth it! This was written by Jody M. one of our faithful volunteers. Praise God for allowing us to be His hands and feet!
"My wife and I were sitting in the breakroom at Rushton's Hope warehouse. We saw forms for seven orders that came in all at the same time. I didn't know until they arrived early that 4 of them were together. We started putting the orders in their car when I looked back and saw one of the ladies looking in her box and heard her giggle and say, "oh my a blueberry poptart!" She proceeded to enjoy every bite! Putting the last box in the car, I went to get the signature from one of the ladies and she looked at me and said, " Sir, I didn't tell them at the office, but I really need a roll of paper towels." My first internal response was "no, that needs to be handled at the office", but my verbal response to her was, "let me see what I can do." Walking back to the warehouse the Holy Spirit began to speak to me, "don't miss an opportunity to be My hands and feet." I got to the shelf where the paper towels are, got a roll and looked to my left. What did I see? A whole box of blueberry pop tarts!!! The plan was clear. Walking back to the car I gave her the roll of paper towels and you would have thought I gave her a million dollars! The other ladies just giggled. I then looked at them and said, "I got a message from the Big Guy for you" They all looked at me. I said, "my God wants you to know how much He loves you and that He sent His Son to be your Savior." Excitement erupted when they all said "we know Jesus and love Him." I said, "well then, I am really gonna make your day" I handed them that box of blueberry pop tarts, that was one happy car!
That hot day in September helped me to remember what we are doing at Rushton's, every can of food, every piece of clothing, serves as an opportunity to proclaim Jesus, that's the heartbeat of Rushton's Hope, may I be found fairhful!"
