Ready to make a difference in Greenwich?
Our next New Member Class is July 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This volunteer training class is the first step in becoming a member of the Junior League of Greenwich. After completing training, members join a committee and begin volunteering alongside other women committed to community impact.
The Junior League provides training, leadership development, and hands-on volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

We are pleased to announce Elizabeth Hiss as the recipient of the 2026 Spirit of the League Award and Cheyenne Dermody, Kristin Toretta, and Cara Toretta as recipients of the 2026 Volunteer Excellence Award.
Since transferring into the Junior League of Greenwich, Elizabeth has made an immediate impact through her enthusiastic engagement across JLG. From helping plan and execute member events to always being the first to raise her hand when help is needed, she embodies the selfless service and positive spirit this award was created to recognize.
The Volunteer Excellence Award recognizes members who go above and beyond in service to JLG. This year, Cheyenne launched and grew the League's Book Club into its largest affinity group, creating a vibrant community of more than 60 members. Through their work with Project Impact and the Greenwich High School Care Closet, Kristin and Cara significantly increased donations and expanded the number of students served, while also stepping up time and again to support additional volunteer shifts and League initiatives.
Congratulations to Elizabeth, Cheyenne, Kristin, and Cara on this well-deserved recognition!

We are pleased to announce Jacqui Bongiovani, Amanda Carino, and Meredith Evans as the recipients of the 2026 Leadership Excellence Award.
This award recognizes committee chairs and directors who go above and beyond to inspire their teams and advance the mission of the Junior League of Greenwich through exceptional leadership.
Driven by their passion for Positively Me, Jacqui, Meredith, and Amanda dedicated two years to strengthening and evolving this beloved program. They refreshed and enhanced the curriculum, explored opportunities to share the program with other organizations and Leagues, introduced thoughtful new elements, and even updated the program’s branding to better reflect its mission.
Their vision, creativity, and commitment have ensured that Positively Me continues to grow and inspire third-grade girls for years to come. Congratulations, Jacqui, Meredith, and Amanda!

We are pleased to announce Stacey Higdon as the recipient of the 2026 Alexandra Compton Award.
One of the Junior League of Greenwich's most prestigious honors, this award is not presented every year and recognizes a member whose service to both JLG and the community is truly exceptional.
Over the past decade, Stacey has made a lasting impact on JLG through numerous leadership roles, including serving as President. This year, she continued her commitment to the organization by chairing multiple committees, serving as a New Member Trainer, and mentoring members across the League.
Beyond JLG, Stacey serves as Vice Chair of The Un**es Project, has served on the Board of the Greenwich Skating Club, and has been a dedicated volunteer leader at Greenwich Country Day School for more than a decade. Her commitment to service extends across multiple organizations, always with the goal of strengthening the community and supporting others.
Through years of extraordinary leadership, mentorship, and community involvement, Stacey embodies everything this award was created to recognize. Congratulations, Stacey!

We are pleased to announce Karen Richard as the recipient of the 2026 Phillis Fynn Mentor Award.
This special honor is not awarded every year and is reserved for members whose mentorship, guidance, and support make a meaningful impact on others.
This year, Karen embodied the true spirit of mentorship through both leadership and action. As a New Member Trainer, she shared her nearly two decades of League experience with a thriving new member class, helping women build confidence, connections within JLG.
Karen also stepped up to serve as Fundraising Director, providing steady leadership and support to committees across the League. Most notably, she helped guide and encourage the Touch A Truck committee through challenges, empowering the team and helping them successfully deliver one of JLG’s signature community events.
Through her generosity, leadership, and unwavering support of others, Karen has made a lasting impact on members across the League. Congratulations, Karen, and thank you for all you do for JLG.

Join us THURSDAY at 7pm for a Family & Friends CPR Training led by a Registered Nurse trainer from Greenwich Hospital. This informative session will cover both child and adult CPR in a relaxed, supportive environment designed for caregivers, parents, and community members.
Please note: This is a community educational training and participants will not receive an American Heart Association CPR certification card upon completion.
