Today, our hearts are filled with both gratitude and sorrow as we reflect on the long-awaited justice for Faith Hedgepeth, sister of Alpha Pi Omega and a member of the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe. After 14 long years of unanswered questions, pain, and waiting, justice has finally been served🤍🕊️
As the Sisters of Sigma Omicron Epsilon, we stand in solidarity with Faith’s sorority sisters of Alpha Pi Omega, her family, and the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe. While we are thankful to see accountability, our hearts break for those who have had to carry this unimaginable loss for so many years. No verdict can bring Faith back or erase the years of grief, the milestones she missed, or the moments her loved ones will never get to share with her on this earth.
Though Faith’s time here was cut far too short, we pray that her loved ones find comfort in knowing that her spirit and memory will continue to live on. May our Creator surround her family, sorority sisters, and tribal community with strength, peace, and healing as they continue to navigate a loss that no one should ever have to endure.
Today, we honor Faith. We remember Faith. We stand with Faith’s family, sisters, and tribe. And we hold on to the hope that, one day, they will be reunited with her in the presence of our Creator. Until then, may she rest peacefully, and may her legacy never be forgotten🪶🤍
