Sidereal astrology uses the literal placement of the planets in the constellations. Tropical astrology recons the vernal point (spring equinox) as 0 degrees of Aries. However, the vernal point has not been at 0 degrees of Aries for over 2,000 years, rendering the tropical zodiac inaccurate by 23 degrees.

Sumerian and Babylonian astrology yielded accurate descriptions and predictions for at least 4,000 years. However, Babylonian astrology was adopted by the Greeks, who created and applied both the element-modality system and erroneous planetary-rulership system to ancient astrology, resulting in inaccurate associations, which remain in use in modern astrology, and influenced Jyotish (Vedic astrology) heavily.

This Full Moon May 31st in Scorpio is activating all four Royal Stars. These are powerful integrity stars that offer possibilities of glory, success & happiness but only if we can overcome our own personal vices. This squaring effect is happening in fixed sign energy that doesn’t like to move easily♉️

Aldebaran’s influence speaks to personal integrity and honesty. The Moon on Antares can reveal past hurts, obsessions and traumas. This axis reminds me of the two dolls Enki sends to Erishkigal in the story The Descent of Inanna. The little dolls find Erishkigal moaning and writhing in agony, suffering from the physical and emotional pain of giving birth alone and grieving the loss of her spouse. They show her compassion by mimicking her pain, they moan and cry with her, they empathise and validate her suffering. Using compassion they witness her pain, allowing her to be heard, felt, seen and understood. Antares intensifies emotions. The Full Moon here also reminds us that Scorpio and Ophiuchus work together as both the venom and the medicine. Ophiuchus teaches us how to work with what Scorpio uncovers, rather than being utterly consumed by it🐍

The Lunar Nodes hold karmic gravity and there’s some tension moving forward. Fomalhaut and the North Node speak to visions that hold meaning but those may not translate well into reality. Regulus with South Node requires grounded discipline and control of our personal power. This cycle is a mark between eclipses, becoming a recalibration time. New opportunities could present themselves while other doors close for good. It’s for sure an intense time and will surely carry over into the next New Moon in Gemini June 14th✨

The Sun, our collective compass, visits Uranus and the Pleiades in Ta**us this month. This energy brings us down to earth, our focus turns back to nature, natural connections, and reinvigorates all things on the ground here on Earth. Just like the Sun wakes up the plant life, it activates all living creatures' physical senses as well. It's the time of year we begin to turn over the soil to make room for new life🌻

The Pleiades have long been associated with being the weapons of the gods. Though most ancient omens involving the Pleiades signify severe results, the Sun softens the weapons of the gods. Symbolizing a more tending to the garden of life aspect like digging up old ground and pulling weeds.

Uranus becomes a slow burn in Ta**us. On a personal level it’s working to expose any illusions we’ve had about our own stability. We may not be sure we want what we’ve been working so hard for anymore. Collectively it's experimenting with ideas of different value systems and testing our intellectual evolution.

The Sun was the central reference point in early Mesopotamian skywatching. Its rising and setting defined time itself, and all other celestial motion was measured against its path. Early skywatchers observed, recorded, and applied what Astronomy revealed to them in plain sight. It's still the same sky and one big cosmic operating system **us

For over 4,000 years the same sky-watchers in ancient Babylon and India did two things at once: they recorded the exact motion, color, brightness, and cycles of the planets on clay tablets and in mathematical texts and they read those observations as meaningful signs. The inside wheel represents the ever growing gap between modern western astrology and the constellational practice rooted in the sky by ancient astronomers from long ago✨🌛

They didn’t split the sky into “science” and “symbols.” They understood the cosmos as one integrated operating system. You could think of it like the OS running on your phone or computer right now. Astronomy is the hardware, the raw, observable data. It shows up as the red glow of Mars, Jupiter’s 12-year journey, and the sideways spin of Uranus. Astrology becomes the powerful software layer that turns that data into language, guidance, and archetypes that speak directly to your life. It’s the same sky, two lenses, and one complete system🤝
