Brown County and C. Reiss have reached an agreement on lease terms to relocate the coal piles. The historic agreement paves the way for mixed-use, downtown-style redevelopment of riverfront in the Shipyard District.

Thank you to our neighbors at C. Reiss for continuing to reinvest in our district, whether in public-private redevelopment or live music and community building through their sponsorship of All Bands On Deck. 🚒🎡

Shipyard District, Inc. was proud to unveil new street benches and bins throughout the Shipyard District. 🚒

The new benches and bins will be permanent additions to the district and will contribute to the walkability and bikeability of our downtown destination. Check them out on the 700, 800, 1200, and 1300 blocks of South Broadway!

The benches are painted rustic red and the bins are painted navy blue, representing the industrial and waterfront history of the Shipyard District. The design and locations of the benches and bins were selected through public design workshops held in 2025 by district stakeholders, including Shipyard District business owners and neighborhood leaders representing Shipyard Neighborhood Association and Tank Neighborhood Association.

Our new street furniture was dedicated to Jim Piontek, a founding member of SDI, a former Shipyard District business owner, and a lifelong friend and supporter of district bars and restaurants. Thank you to our vice president Tara Piontek for her continued leadership on our board in his memory.

The project was funded by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars through the City of Green Bay. Thank you to our partners in local government for their continued support of our revitalization mission.

Shipyard District, Inc. thanks our partners at C. Reiss for coming aboard as our lead community sponsor for our fifth annual All Bands On Deck! As a family-owned company, C. Reiss has been investing in our district along our historic Fox River waterway for over a century. We thank them for supporting live, local bands and local businesses in our mission to revitalize our Shipyard District! 🚒🎡

C. Reiss recently came to a land deal with Brown County to move the coal piles situated on the banks of the Fox River in the heart of the Shipyard District with a long-term community vision of transforming our waterfront with over $150 million in potential mixed-use, downtown-style development – paving the way for new businesses, hundreds of new jobs, and hundreds or possibly thousands of new residents. Thank you to C. Reiss for their continued investment in our community.
