James Dunn is a beloved member of our club, who we don't get to see in-person too often (he frequently Zooms into our meetings!). But when he came in-person recently, we presented him with a Paul Harris Fellowship +2 recognition pin, signifying his generous contributions to The Rotary Foundation. Thank you, James! These contributions allow us to continue our Rotary work both locally and around the world.

We would like to introduce another new club member, Michelle Gallas. Michelle has had a long career in early childhood education, and is currently the owner of Imagine That Creative Children's Centers. When expressing an interest in our club, she said that she couldn't think of a group that focuses on community more than we do - and she wanted to be a part of it. We're so glad that now are, Michelle! Welcome!

We recently inducted a new member into our club... Becca Martin, proposed by Jodi MacDonald. Becca hit the ground running and is already very involved in helping the club out in a number of roles, including running tech during meetings and taking over as our Foundation bookkeeper. And besides all of that, she's an incredibly nice person, too! Welcome to the club, Becca!

Another club member who we MUST recognize... Bev Walker, who recently received her Paul Harris +4 recognition pin. Bev gives to this club in so many ways, donations to The Rotary Foundation are just a minor part of it. She's our Membership Committee Chair, she opens her home to Youth Exchange kids, and so much more. Thank you, Bev, and congratulations on this latest recognition! 👏

We've fallen behind in recognizing some of our member's achievements! Back in April, Jodi MacDonald received both a Paul Harris Fellowship +7 recognition (yes, +7, which is a rare achievement!), as well as a Superstar Award from our District Leadership (even more rare!). Jodi gives so much to Rotary, to her community, and to our club. Congratulations, Jodi, and thank you for all you do! 👏🏆🎉

Featured with him (left to right) club members Dawn Welch & Deb Ameen, both retired from The Asante Foundation, and Lutz Kramer. Dr. Gross shared a fascinating history of heart health care and the contributions of physicians and medical professionals from S. Oregon for today's improved treatments and results.

Today, our club was honored to present the Service Above Self Award to Gabriel, a recent graduate of Grants Pass High School.

Gabriel has been a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Rogue Valley for more than a decade and has consistently demonstrated leadership, character, and a commitment to serving others. Throughout his time at the Club, he has participated in numerous programs, including Youth of the Year, and has dedicated his time to mentoring younger teen boys through Passport to Manhood.

This fall, Gabriel will attend Rogue Community College to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Development. His goal is to return to the Boys & Girls Club as a staff member, continuing to inspire and mentor youth just as others have done for him.

Gabriel embodies the spirit of Service Above Self through his dedication to helping others and making a positive difference in his community. We congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition and look forward to seeing the impact he will continue to make in the years ahead.

Congratulations, Gabriel!

Meet Braedan, a standout senior from Illinois Valley High School who has truly made the most of his high school years!

A dedicated athlete, Braedan has balanced both baseball and soccer while also stepping up as a leader on campus. He’s actively involved in Leadership, Interact Club, and ASB student government - making a lasting impact on his school community. His commitment to service hasn’t gone unnoticed, Braedan is our most recent recipient of the Student Above Self Award, recognizing his dedication to putting others first.

Outside of school, you’ll often find him giving back as a local Little League umpire or volunteering through Interact.

This fall, Braedan is headed to Willamette University, where he plans to study secondary education and history, combining his passion for learning with his drive to make a difference for future generations.

When he’s not busy leading or competing, Braedan enjoys swimming, traveling, and diving into all things history.

We can’t wait to see all the incredible things ahead for you, Braedan - your future is bright! 🌟
