I thought it was a good idea to bring some of our light to the wall of missing people.
It's important to remind others that no matter how long a missing persons case has gone unsolved, there is always hope.
Josephine County will always remember Teresa Peroni, and now some of the attendees at CrimeCon know her name, along with the names of many of our missing. πŸ’™πŸ¦‹πŸ’™

Fear doesn't find people, but determination can.

ANNOUNCEMENT TIME:

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been a little silent over here lately, but we've got a few important updates to fill the community in on.

1- JoCoMPP is going to CrimeCon at the very end of May! We aren't going to have a table this year, but this is still a networking and resource gathering opportunity that we're looking forward to. Our missing people deserve to have their stories told, and their loved ones deserve to have their voices heard if they are so willing, by some of the bigger media outlets that attend this event.

2- the annual rally is still happening this year, but to account for weather and timing we're likely to hold it later in the summer than we have in previous years. We'll release more information when we've settled on a date!

3- our website is still in development, but we are also tentatively tossing around the idea of a Discord server to facilitate more conversations about our missing. There will be more information on both of these things coming soon.

Keeping the light on is of the utmost importance, but we're still a small nonprofit and we appreciate all of the support and patience of our community as we navigate how to best advocate for our missing and their loved ones.

Yesterday, Teresa Peroni and her loved ones finally got the closure they've been waiting over 40 years to receive. Marcus Sanfratello pled guilty to first degree manslaughter and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Given that he's in his 70's, this is essentially a life sentence.

Since our organization's inception, we've been doing what we can to advocate for justice in this case. Terry's loved ones should never have had to wait this long for a resolution, but let this serve as a reminder that no matter how long ago somebody went missing, those responsible can still be held accountable.

Marcus Sanfratella, 73, was sentenced to 20 years for the homicide of Teresa Peroni, closing a case that was unsolved for more than 40 years.

Each year, the National Criminal Justice Training Center holds it's Missing and Unidentified Persons Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2025, two of our board members attended this event, where they were able to network with several different professionals and organizations that would not have known of JoCoMPP otherwise. They also attended several seminars that helped enhance their understanding of the many hurdles that are faced personally and professionally when it comes to locating and pursuing justice for missing people.

It is worth noting that JoCoMPP was also the only organization of any kind that was representing Southern Oregon.

Gwen and Joy paid for the majority of last year's trip out of their own pockets, which was very costly. This year we are hoping that, as Gwen is the only member of JoCoMPP attending, some of this cost can be offset by community support.

Through this Zeffy campaign, the funds raised will specifically go towards this trip, which is why we've established a loose goal of $2,500 as an estimate for attending the event. This breaks down as follows-

$500 registration fee for the event

$350-$400 for round-trip plane fare

$1,200 to stay at the hotel the event is being held at

Any and all funds leftover from this campaign will be deposited into the JoCoMPP General Fund so that we can continue our work back home.

Please consider donating- if all of our social media followers donated just a dollar, we'd have more than enough to make this happen!

Today, we will finally find out if Mark Sanfratello is fit to stand trial for the 1983 murder of Teresa Peroni.

Justice has been delayed for long enough, please give encouragement, condolences, and well wishes to Terry's family in the comments.

πŸ’™πŸ¦‹πŸ’™ Fly high, sweet girl, may the wheels of justice continue to turn for you.

Community, please share this and keep an eye out for Gabriel! πŸ’™πŸ¦‹πŸ’™

Today, we would like to introduce you to one of our JoCo adjacent missing, Melinda McCollom. As of today, it's been 37 long years for her loved ones, with no real answers or closure in all that time. We understand that this post, specifically the named person of interest, may ruffle some local feathers, but we've held off on sharing this information for long enough.
Please share this post, especially if you have friends from the Southern California area who may be able to get this flyer to the right person with information and a conscience.
If you have information, contact the SBPD at the number below. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, send us a message and we'll relay the information to the detectives for you.

Today, February 3, is National Missing Persons Day. We would like to take this moment to not only share some statistics and flyers with you, but to also thank the Josephine County community for being so supportive of us, and so patient. This is heavy work, but it is worth the weight (and sometimes, the waiting).. Let's keep the light on for our missing, and our hearts open to those who love them.
