Hands for Peacemaking Foundation(HfP) has become an invaluable partner for Adopt-a-Village in Guatemala and has already contributed significantly to improvements on our campus at Maya Jaguar Private Technical Institute. They recently installed a Rotary Foundation-funded water improvement project to increase rainwater catchment, filtration, and storage. Additionally, they installed some of their signature clean-air stoves--their invention-- to improve our campus cooking facility.

Share the joy of a holiday meal!

Each December, we share joy of the season with our students and their families by delivering a holiday meal basket (canasta navideña) to every home. These special baskets include a live chicken, rice, beans, grains, onions, garlic, tomatoes, guajillo chiles, achiote, and other spices—everything needed for a traditional and nourishing holiday feast.

Our school staff personally delivers these baskets to more than 115 families in five remote Maya villages in western Guatemala, where our students live.

Malnutrition and food scarcity remain daily challenges in these communities. Most families survive on the modest wages of day labor or the limited harvests of subsistence farming. Nutritious meals not only improve health—they also help children learn better and thrive.

At our Maya Jaguar schools, students study nutrition and sustainable agriculture, bringing valuable knowledge home to their families and help to build a healthier future for their communities.

Your gift of $35 provides a complete holiday meal basket for a Maya family.Together, we can share warmth, nourishment, and hope this holiday season. Please consider helping as many families as you can.

Thanks from our volunteer team for your continued support!
