Spirit Mountain Community Fund is the charitable arm of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, where we donate nearly $4 million every year to the community…that’s 6% of casino profits!

Spirit Mountain Community Fund Turns 29!!

On May 6, 1997, we gave out our first two grants to the Life Flight Network and the Portland Art Museum! And today, we are still excited to continue assisting Oregon nonprofits as the philanthropic arm of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde!

On March 11, 2026, the Spirit Mountain Community Fund had our 2026 1st Quarterly Check Presentation. We awarded 13 grants totaling $429,463, bringing overall funding since 1997 to $103+ million in giving!!

Oregon Cultural Trust is scheduling Conversations with Funders events from March 26 - April 10, 2026. Grantmakers will be offering over $5 million in funding for 2027.

We will be attending the virtual event on March 26th, the Eugene event on March 31st, and the Newport event on April 7th.

We are accepting Hatfield application now through May 1, 2026!

Each year, the SMCF selection committee will choose a Native American who is at least 21 years of age, to serve as the Hatfield Fellow. Preference will be given to qualified enrolled members of the nine federally recognized Oregon tribes.

Our 2025 Helping Hand (Ye lan Lima) Awards have been selected and delivered! Congratulations to: Liz Havely at Lines for Life, Jenny Aldrich at Willamette Vital Health, and Shannon Chasteen at Blanchet House!!

Each winner has received $500 & a free night’s lodging and complimentary meal courtesy of Spirit Mountain Casino! Thank you to all of our hardworking nonprofit employees, and Merry Christmas to everyone!!

On Wednesday, December 12th, we had our 2025 4th Quarterly Check Presentation. We gave out 20 grants to nonprofits and 8 grants to Oregon Tribes, totaling $1,447, 909 in giving for the quarter. Since our inception in 1997, we have given out 3,482 grants for a total of $103,228,571!
