The YEP Program was proud to bring our youth to the Salem Out of the Darkness Walk! It was so powerful to see so many community members come together to raise awareness for su***de prevention and show their support. I know so many more community members participated that aren’t in the picture. Hayu masi for all of you who showed up today!

Every step we take together helps remind our relatives that they are loved, they matter, and they are never alone. 💜

We are gearing up for our 3rd annual Boys with Braids conference! We are excited to come together once again for this amazing day filled with empowerment, education, culture and community! This conference is for EVERYONE to connect, learn, be inspired, and celebrate who they are in a supportive and uplifting environment.

The YEP program will be participating in the 2026 Out of the Darkness Walk in Salem again this year! The walk will take place at Riverfront Park on October 10th at 10am, and all are welcome to attend.

YEP will be providing transportation for youth and young adults (ages 12–24) who would like to participate in this event.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day, across our community, we honor this day by reminding our youth, families, and relatives that healing is strengthened through connection, culture, and the everyday skills we practice to care for ourselves and one another.

We're sharing our Health Coping Skills flyer today becuase these tools are more than strategies, theyre acts of self respeft, balance, and wellness. WHether it's grounding through mindfullness, expressing emotions through art, or reaching out when things feel heavy, each skill reflects the teachings our community carries about supporting on another.

September is National Su***de Prevention Month. 💜

In recognition of this important month, UNITY invites Native youth ages 14–24, youth council advisors, families, and community members to join us for an important virtual conversation focused on su***de prevention, hope, healing, and supporting one another.

Led by the National UNITY Council Executive Committee, this webinar will provide a safe and supportive space to raise awareness, encourage meaningful conversations, share messages of hope, and remind our young people that their lives have value, their voices matter, and they are never alone.

Today, The Youth Empowerment & Prevention program had the honor of participating in the MMIP Awareness Walk with some of our amazing youth ❤️

We walked in remembrance, in support of our families and communities, and to help bring awareness to the ongoing work to honor and protect our people.

We are grateful to have been part of this meaningful gathering and to stand alongside our community in support of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People. ❤️🪶
