Ares had his vet appt today. He had some anxiety walking in the exam room and was very jumpy when the vet touched him with his stethoscope which is def unusual for him. The vet gave him a dewormer and a clean bill of health otherwise. He said there was no need to draw blood and he’s very surprised that he made it 19 days in the woods by himself. The vet did not give him any meds for anxiety but told me to call him should the anxiety not get better and we will discuss it then.

Ares has unending energy and clearly has no idea that he’s severely malnourished. There’s no telling him to take it easy. He’s back to running laps in the back yard.

After bringing Ares home last night he was given a very small amount of food. He went on a road trip with me today and him and I snuggled in the back of the car for hours. He’s very tired, not a lot of energy but still a giant sweetheart. I’ve been trying to get him in to see a vet but the places I’ve called are all booked up and the soonest I can get him in at the moment is August 1st. He has some scabs on his sternum and he has more white spots on him from scars he likely acquired the first week he was missing but otherwise no injuries.

I have ordered two 4’ x 8’ signs to place on the Hwy (this blurry pic is all I have of the rough draft at the moment). Still trying to get the mailers figured out in the meantime. We found out there are a lot of restrictions. No new leads on Ares.
