Last week, Oregonians from every corner of the state came together to take a stand for their version of the American Dream. United under the banner of AFP Oregon, they raised their voices against the proposed gas tax hike being pushed in the special legislative session.

From small business owners worried about cutting jobs to families rallying outside the Capitol, the message was loud and clear: Oregonians deserve better than rushed tax hikes that threaten their livelihoods.

This rally wasn’t just about policy—it was about people. Every person who showed up, held a sign, or spoke out took a meaningful step toward protecting opportunity, prosperity, and freedom in their community. And it’s working: with ODOT inflating job projections and the vote delayed by two weeks, grassroots voices are already making an impact.

This was more than a protest—it was a promise. A promise that Oregonians will keep showing up, one rally, one conversation, one vote at a time.
