Posted on behalf of the GI School District:

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to share an update with all of you regarding the Meat Raffle fundraiser for Growing Readers.

The Meat Raffle will be held on Friday, April 24 at the Knights of Columbus in North Tonawanda. Doors will open at 6 pm and the first raffle draw will be at 7 pm.

This event is in support of the books being delivered to Tonawanda Pediatrics. These books are given to the infants and toddlers who are there for their well baby check-ups.

We are absolutely excited to partner this year with the City of Tonawanda Schools to create this amazing event. We will need your help in marketing the event as well as bringing theme baskets, volunteering to help and all that goes into making this a fantastic evening.

Thank you again for all of your help.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Let us know if you can help. We need volunteers, donations and people to participate in the raffle.

Have you heard of the EarlyAct club? It is a youth club associated with Rotary.

EarlyAct provides young students the opportunity for gaining an increased awareness and knowledge of their community and the world. At a young age, all students can easily be encouraged to be caring and helpful. Their minds are open to recognize the dignity and worth of each individual which builds respect for others.

EarlyAct also engages students in character-building activities and prepares them for leadership roles to identify and carry out projects which benefit their school, local and global communities.

This weekend, our amazing EarlyAct students proudly represented Kaegebein as they rang the bells for The Salvation Army at Tops! Under the guidance of Club Advisor Stephanie Prichard, these young leaders served with big smiles and even bigger hearts. 💙🔔

Thank you to our students for spreading kindness and holiday cheer—and for showing what service above self looks like at such a young age! 🎄💫

A Rotarian, her 91-year-old mother, and 9+ M&T Bank employee volunteers walked into The Salvation Army - Tonawanda Corps today....

No this is not the beginning of one of those lame jokes we always see. These fine folks worked from 9:45am to 1;00pm today helping to prepare Christmas for 50+ families from North Tonawanda, Tonawanda, Grand Island, and Western Amherst. There were thousands of toys and hundreds of bags donated through “Toys for Tots” to be sorted, and from Angel Tree tags, which needed to be sorted by child’s name and gift preference, placed into large red or green bags for the registered families to pick up on December 15th. (Note: one bag per family.)

Lt. Krystal Mack of the Salvation Army interviews each family and child, then develops a spreadsheet for each child to ensure they receive at least four of their requested gifts.

This year, with the help of our M&T partners, the work was completed more quickly than last year.

Thank you M&T and thank you to our friends at The Salvation Army for helping families have a memorable Christmas.
