Non-Profit Spotlight: Litchfield Park Scout Lodge Preservation, Inc.
Submitted by: Meredeth Stucky, Class 4 Alumna
With the new development in the Litchfield Square, the historic 1954 Litchfield Park Scout Lodge will soon be razed. Mr. Litchfield built and dedicated the original lodge and established a legacy of community support for scouting. Litchfield Park has a 97-year history of scouting beginning with Boy Scout Troop 90 dedicated in 1929 for the Goodyear Farm families and Troop 99 in 1943 for Goodyear Aerospace families. It is often referred to as the highest density of scouting in the valley.
Though we say goodbye to a cherished piece of our past, this moment opens the door
for the scouting community to construct a new, modern lodge. Today, scouting families are stepping up to continue that tradition and bring a new lodge to life.
