There’s nothing more heartbreaking than receiving an email that one of our local church food pantries has literally run out of food.
It’s a powerful reminder of the struggles so many families in our communities are facing. With the rising cost of groceries, gas, and other everyday necessities, more families are turning to their local food pantries for a little extra help.
When we heard about the need, the Desert Southwest United Methodist Foundation knew we wanted to help. Continuing our tradition of “Doing More Good,” the Foundation made a donation to help restock the pantry. The food arrived today, and we hope it goes a long way toward filling those empty shelves and providing meals for families who need them.
It is incredibly rewarding to know that we can make a difference—not only in the life and ministry of one of our churches, but also in the lives of the people they serve.
Please consider supporting your local church or community food pantry. A few cans, a bag of groceries, or a financial donation may seem small, but to a family struggling to put food on the table, it can make all the difference.
Together, we can keep Doing More Good.
