A huge thank you to Zada Fresh Farms for becoming a premier 2026 Harvest of Merit Project Sponsor!

Based in Salinas, CA, Zada Fresh Farms is investing $12,500 to directly fund 7 student projects across the Gonzales and Greenfield FFA chapters. This generous support provides Monterey County students with the essential resources for hands-on learning and leadership development.

The Greenhouse Management Class, has been working hard, in the greenhouse and out! We have planted Cilantro, Lettuce, Basil and Chard in our Flex Farm, which is our new Hydroponics system purchased from the Farm to Fork Grant. Today we completed our first harvest and brought our harvest to the cafeteria for use to our students. We were informed that our herbs will be used today in the lunch, which is Fajitas and our lettuce will be used tomorrow for some wraps!We are excited to start our second round!

Gonzales FFA members have opportunities to expand their leadership skills at the 98th state FFA Conference and able to build connections with leaders! Gonzales FFA members took action at conference in a variety of roles such as Voting Delegates, Courtesy Corps, and California FFA Ambassador!

Congratulations Melissa!!!

Yesterday, Melissa received the Donna Zoller Memorial Scholarship through First Tee of Monterey County for a whopping $10,000. IIt was a multi-step process that involved her experiences in golf, life, school, and her career plans. Her experience as a public speaker in FFA was a huge advantage in the process. 🎉 Big Announcement for the 98th Annual California FFA State Leadership Conference! 🎉We are excited to welcome Dr. Temple Grandin as a keynote speaker at this year's conference, presented by Valley Wide Cooperative! 🎤

Dr. Temple Grandin is a distinguished professor of animal science at Colorado State University. The facilities she has designed for handling livestock are used by many companies around the world. She has also been instrumental in implementing animal welfare auditing programs that are used by McDonald's, Wendy’s, Whole Foods, and other corporations.

Dr. Temple Grandin has appeared on numerous TV shows such as 20/20 and Prime Time. Her books include: Thinking in Pictures, Livestock Handling and Transport, and The Autistic Brain. Her books Animals in Translation and Visual Thinking have been on the New York Times Bestseller List.

She was also inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame in September 2017, in 2022 was named a Colorado State University Distinguished Professor, and in 2023 was inducted into the Colorado Authors’ Hall of Fame.

Get ready for a memorable Sunday morning hearing from the iconic Dr. Temple Grandin during Session 2 of the 98th Annual California FFA State Leadership Conference!

What a way to wrap up our March Meeting - our annual canned food drive exceeded expectations!
Our dedicated officers and 100 members, along with the Gonzales community, came together to collect an impressive 936 Ibs of goods for our local food bank. A heartfelt thank you to all who contributed!
