What a paws-itively amazing evening at the 2026 Ascension Parish 4-H Pet & Pumpkin Show! 🐾🎃

This year’s event was filled with creativity, fun, and community spirit as 77 pumpkin entries were showcased across six contest categories, highlighting the incredible talents and imagination of our 4-H members. The parking lot party excitement continued with 27 youth participating in the Pet Show and 24 participants showing off their creativity in the Costume Contest, featuring adorable pets and imaginative costumes that brought smiles to everyone in attendance.

A special thank you goes to our guest judges, Sergeant Tony Tureau of the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office and Judge Jason Verdigets, for volunteering their time and helping make this event such a memorable experience for our youth. We appreciate their support of Ascension Parish 4-H and our local 4-H members.

Thank you to all of our exhibitors, families, volunteers, judges, and supporters who helped make this event such a success. We are proud of every participant who shared their hard work, creativity, and love for their pets. Congratulations to all of our winners and thank you for making the 2026 Ascension Parish 4-H Pet & Pumpkin Show one to remember! 🏆💚🍀

We are excited to announce that we are expanding the Ascension 4-H staff with the addition of a 4-H Program Assistant. The 4-H program continues to thrive in Ascension and is one of the largest in Louisiana. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment to offer quality youth development opportunities for 4-H members in Ascension Parish. This position will be responsible for helping organize events, conducting club meetings, and a variety of other responsibilities to support the 4-H Program.

The application for the Summer 2027 Extension Internship is still open!

This paid internship is for current or rising college junior, senior or graduate students. Participants will learn how to plan and conduct extension programs by working alongside our educators at a parish Extension office. The deadline to apply is November 15.
