The best day of the year! Rotary Club of Gonzales held our annual Kids in the park for Ascension Parish Schools special education classes at Kidz Kove Discovery Park. Lunch was hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks and th ice cream truck from Red River Bank A great time was had by all!

Today’s speaker was someone whose passion for youth development and community impact is felt throughout Ascension Parish—Bobby Capewell.

Bobby is the Executive and Technical Director of Ascension Flight Soccer Club, which has served families in our parish for over 20 years. Bobby has been with the club for 11 years and has served in every role imaginable—he’s truly done it all for the club. A huge accomplishment for the club includes being recognized as the Soccer Provider for the Ascension Parish Recreation Department for the past 7.5 years.

Bobby holds a specialized coaching license for youth ages 5–18, as well as a Master’s Degree in Coaching. Today, he’ll share how Ascension Flight plans to deepen its connection to the community and enhance the experiences they provide for our parish’s youth.

Bobby and Ascension Flight are shaping young minds in ways that will last far beyond the field.
