We met her mom in prison.

She got out.

Today, we met her —
a 6th grader.

She had been trafficked too.

And today… she got out.

Mom is in safe housing,
fighting for a new life.

And now her daughter has a chance at one too.

Every One Counts.

She was trafficked out of New York and ended up jailed in South Louisiana for months before being recognized as a victim.

Today she walked out free.
This is what she wrote to us as she reflected on her freedom:

“Hi, it’s Anna. I just wanted to tell you again how grateful I am to have you guys in my life. You have made a tremendous difference in the amount of time I would have spent in that place, in my entire outlook on life on getting out. And you are just a blessing, and I’ll never be able to tell you enough how grateful I am. I hope that you are home, comfortable, and doing whatever it is that makes you happy and unwinds you at the end of the day. I have a can of soda and a bag of chips, and I’m downloading some apps. And I’m about to take a shower in my nice private room, on my actual real bed. And I’m just filled… filled with gratitude. Thank you so much.”

Out of trafficking.

She’s in another city now, beginning again.

But love still finds a way.

So we made a plan.
Every month she shows up
—
after a long Greyhound bus ride —
to visit her son, a toddler.

Because safety matters.
And love matters too.
And sometimes healing looks like a bus ticket and a promise kept.

Since 2017, the number of trafficking victims receiving state services has more than tripled to over 2,000 in 2024, an improvement officials credit to recent legislation and increased awareness. But law enforcement has struggled to keep pace.

Happy birthday to our fearless leader, Alliece Cole 🎉

While most people spend their birthday celebrating, Alliece spent hers in one of the places she loves most — the prison.

Today, she visited two local prisons, sitting with women who are incarcerated, listening to their stories, and offering the kind of presence and hope she’s known for.

Thank you, Alliece, for leading with humility and compassion, and for showing us — again and again and again — that Every One Counts.
