She reached out to us for help.
Her biggest need in that moment?
 A wheelchair.

She had lost a leg to amputation. Then a car hit her wheelchair as she was leaving the grocery store.
 The chair was totaled.
The hand-me-down that replaced it was bent. Coming apart. So she pushed herself with her hands.
 Everywhere.

When we brought her a new motorized chair, she cried.

“Please tell them thank you. I just can’t say thank you enough.”

So we’re telling you.
 Your generosity did this.

And from all of us here at Sparrow, thank you too.
 We’re so grateful for every person who makes moments like this possible.

“I was sick and you looked after me.” (Matthew 25:36)

Every. One. Counts.

A school office.
Five people sat around the conference table who didn’t have to.

A principal. A counselor. A therapist. 
Teachers who could’ve kept it simple — attendance, grades — and closed the file there.

Instead, they asked how to help.

We advocated for her without her there.

Told them what she’s carried since the day she was born.

They wept with us.

Thank you to a school that chose to see this third grader — a survivor — before a student ID.

Every ONE counts.

Her heart needed surgery.
Not a metaphor. An actual operation — years of what was done to her body, finally catching up.

Survivors carry more than memory. It sits in their blood pressure. Their nervous systems. Their hearts.

She’s recovering now. Slowly. With someone checking on her long after the story stops being new.

Safety was never the finish line. It was only the beginning of recovery.

Healing happens now.
Every one counts.

Last week, we celebrated a young mom of two who just graduated high school.

When we first met her, she was sleeping in an office because she had nowhere else to go. She was merely fighting through for survival.

But her story did not end there.

Today, she has graduated and is in stable housing. She plans to enroll in Cosmetology School, and she’s dreaming about what’s next.

Moments like this remind us that people are more than the hardest season they’ve lived through. With support, encouragement, and community, hope begins to grow again.

We are so proud of her. Every step forward matters.

She was trafficked for 16 years by multiple generations of her own family.

Today, we sat with her and reminded her that what happened to her was never okay.

When people think about trafficking, they often picture strangers or dangerous men in dark places. But for many survivors, exploitation begins much closer to home. Sometimes the people meant to protect a child are the very ones who harm them.

We’re grateful she got out.
And grateful hope is beginning to find her too.

Cause Every One Counts.

A mother and daughter.

Both forced into trafficking.�Separated for two and a half years.

Yesterday, a 6th grader was brought to another city for a reunion with her mom.�
And after years apart… they finally held each other again.

Now, they both have a chance at something neither of them have had in a long time — hope.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.”�
Our prayer and hope now is this —�safe housing, healing, and the chance for them to stay together.

Every One Counts.
Two generations.�Both of them.

We met her mom in prison.

She got out.

Today, we met her —
a 6th grader.

She had been trafficked too.

And today… she got out.

Mom is in safe housing,
fighting for a new life.

And now her daughter has a chance at one too.

Every One Counts.

She was trafficked out of New York and ended up jailed in South Louisiana for months before being recognized as a victim.

Today she walked out free.
This is what she wrote to us as she reflected on her freedom:

“Hi, it’s Anna. I just wanted to tell you again how grateful I am to have you guys in my life. You have made a tremendous difference in the amount of time I would have spent in that place, in my entire outlook on life on getting out. And you are just a blessing, and I’ll never be able to tell you enough how grateful I am. I hope that you are home, comfortable, and doing whatever it is that makes you happy and unwinds you at the end of the day. I have a can of soda and a bag of chips, and I’m downloading some apps. And I’m about to take a shower in my nice private room, on my actual real bed. And I’m just filled… filled with gratitude. Thank you so much.”
