💙❤️ Celebrating Hope, Strength, and Survivorship! ❤️💙

In recognition of National Cancer Survivor Month, several members of the Gonzales Lions Club were honored to volunteer at the 2026 Celebration of Life, hosted by Cancer Services.

This special event brought together cancer survivors, their families, friends, and supporters for a day dedicated to celebrating courage, resilience, and the incredible journeys of survivorship. Our Lions were privileged to welcome guests, visit with survivors, and serve a delicious lunch to a room filled with inspiring stories of hope and determination.

Every survivor’s journey is a testament to the power of faith, perseverance, medical advances, and the support of a caring community. The smiles, laughter, and heartfelt conversations shared throughout the day reminded us all why service matters.

The Gonzales Lions Club is proud to support events that honor those who have faced cancer with extraordinary strength. It was truly a memorable day, and a wonderful reminder that together we can bring hope, encouragement, and compassion to those who need it most.

The Gonzales Lions Club was honored at the May 16th District 8N Cabinet Meeting held at the Slidell Noon Lion’s Den, where District Governor Elbert Hill presented the club with an award recognizing it as the fifth oldest club in District 8N. Chartered on April 7, 1943, the Gonzales Lions Club has proudly served Gonzales and the surrounding communities for 83 years! Lion Kim Cox accepted the award on behalf of the club. If you would like to join us as we continue serving our community, we would love to have you participate in one of our service projects. More hands = more service!
