🎉 This week, we celebrated Crouton’s FIRST Ranchiversary! 🐷❤️👇

Crouton has gone from a tiny, cold, shy 4-pound baby to a big, brave girl whose favorite things are cuddling with big Christopher and snatching her favorite treats & running around with them so no one else can steal them! 😆

❤️‍🩹 Yeti has another fight ahead of her, and we really need y'all. If you know Yeti, you know she's a FIGHTER. But now, she needs us to fight for her, too.

Last week, we found a growth on the back of Yeti's back leg, the leg most affected by paralysis from her previous accident. We contacted our vet immediately, and after an appointment Tuesday for testing, we got the news we were desperately hoping not to hear: Yeti has a mast cell tumor. 💔

We didn't waste any time. She started meds to help calm the tumor, and the very next day, she was back at the vet to have it surgically removed. The tumor has been sent off for testing, and we'll hopefully know more in the coming weeks. Because of its location, it was difficult to remove as much surrounding tissue as they'd ideally like. The tests will tell us whether the margins are clear & help determine our next steps. If the tumor wasn't completely removed or testing shows it has spread, we may be looking at amputation, radiation, or chemo.

It's a lot to take in. But if you know Yeti's story, you know why we're not giving up on her.

🐾 Yeti came to the ranch after surviving an accident with a semi that left her with significant mobility challenges in her back end.. and then, another freak accident took one of her eyes. But through it all she never gave up, she adapted & kept on being Yeti.

Here at the ranch, this almost-6-year-old pug spins, snorts, scoots, cuddles, and zooms around in her wheelchair like she runs the place. Not one animal here isn't her friend.

We don't know exactly what the road ahead looks like yet, but we do know we're going to give her everything we've got. We would love for y'all to help too...

🐐🤍 Tink (left) & Miles (right) look like twinsies for about half the year! 👯‍♀️ But about now, Miles starts really growing his soft Angora coat and starts turning into a walking fluffball! 😂☁️

They might look alike, but trust us… their personalities are a whole different story! These two definitely keep things interesting around here. 🐐💕

🐑❤️ NO ANIMAL LEFT LOOSE: Farm Animal Rescue Response!

Sometimes, one animal’s story inspires us to do something that can make a difference for many others. For us, that animal is Maizey. ❤️

Last year, Maizey found her way to Lazy J Rescue Ranch after surviving the unthinkable. Used for breeding until she was deemed “too old,” she was discarded at auction, hauled to Iowa, and became sick & weak from shipping fever. Sold again for slaughter, she made a daring leap from a moving truck onto one of Iowa’s busiest roads and survived nearly TWO MONTHS on her own, hiding in cornfields, dodging danger, and evading the people trying to catch her. Eventually, she wandered 4 miles to a nearby farm, where someone was finally able to get her here to safety.

Maizey recently celebrated her 1st Ranchiversary as a healthy & content girl knowing she's finally somewhere safe, forever. She loves exploring, trying new treats, and sticking close to her sheep buddy, Lambert. She’s getting to live the peaceful, protected life she always deserved. 🥹

But Maizey’s journey also opened our eyes to just how difficult & dangerous it can be to capture a frightened, loose farm animal without the right equipment. Having proper supplies could have helped us get Maizey to safety faster, reducing the time she spent exposed to traffic, the elements, and other dangers.

That’s why we’re so excited to share that our "No Animal Left Loose: Farm Animal Rescue Response" program is officially equipped & ready to go! 🎉

Thanks to a generous grant from the Wright County Charitable Foundation, we’ve purchased the supplies needed to safely & humanely capture, contain, and transport loose or stray, unclaimed farm animals to the ranch.

These supplies will help us respond more efficiently when animals are in trouble, protect the animals & people involved, and provide a valuable resource for Wright County and our surrounding communities.

A HUGE thank you to the Wright County Charitable Foundation for helping make this project possible! ❤️ We couldn’t be happier knowing Maizey's story will help us be better prepared for the next animal in need. 🐑🦆🐄🐓🦙🐇🐖🦚🐐🦃

Meet our newest TEMPORARY ranch resident. 🐱❤️ This little guy showed up at the ranch needing A LOT of help... absolutely covered in fleas, full of worms, ear mites, and eyes that are so badly infected. 😭 We couldn’t exactly turn our backs on a little one who needed this much help.

Our focus is farm animals & animals who require special care, though, so we reached out to our friends at The Humane Society of Wright County Iowa. They couldn’t officially take him on without a foster lined up… sooooo, here we are. 😂❤️

Right now, our county doesn’t have a shelter. That means every stray, rescue, and surrender the Humane Society is able to help has to have a foster home ready to step up. A shelter would be life-changing for animals and people throughout our entire county.

They’re currently raising funds to make that shelter a reality, and we’d love for you to head over to their page, support the project, and grab your tickets to their Howl-o-ween event! 🎃🐾 We’ll be there, too!

In the meantime, this little guy is getting the care he deserves, and we’re pretty sure he’s already figured out that he landed in a pretty good place. 🥹❤️ Once we get his health cleared up a bit, he’ll be up for adoption through the Humane Society, so stay tuned for updates on this little dude!

2 years ago, Panda came to the ranch because a blind cow doesn’t exactly have an easy road ahead of her. 🐮❤️ But look at her now... safe, loved, and living her best life.

Tonight, she’s just chewing her cud by her hay, getting ready for bed with ZERO cares in the world. 😂

Happy 2nd Ranchiversary, sweet Panda! What a special journey it’s been. 🥹❤️
