Our club is situated upon 40 beautiful acres, and is in a period of rapid expansion. We currently have 2 outdoor rings dedicated to obedience and agility training and trials, an air-conditioned and heated training building, and lots of acreage which we are developing for future field trials and other events. We offer weekly training classes in obedience, advanced obedience, rally, puppy training A
KC S.T.A.R. puppy program, Canine Good Citizen Classes and testing and conformation handling. We hope to continue to expand upon our offerings in the future. Our classes are fun, use positive reinforcement methods and are open to both purebred and mixed breed dogs. Our trainers are very experienced, and are accustomed to working with all types of dogs. In addition to training classes, we also sponsor American Kennel Club (AKC) affiliated conformation shows, agility trials, obedience trials and rally trials each year. We also support the efforts of our local animal shelter, the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, as well as other dog related community resources, such as the Mathews County K9 unit, Gloucester Fire and Rescue, Dog therapy in our schools and hospitals, Seeing Eye dog programs, and local Search and Rescue Teams. We always welcome new members and their families! Our club offers fellowship, many opportunities to get out, be involved with and enjoy your four-legged family member in the community, and lots of outlets for training and success. Our general membership meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month, at 7PM in our training building in Gloucester.
