This weekend, something special happened in the Valley.

Nearly 500 military members and their families joined us at Wildlife World Zoo for a day of connection, fun, and well-deserved time together. From exploring the park to enjoying meals with provided food vouchers, it was a chance for families to simply be present—and the smiles said it all.

This event was made possible through an incredible partnership between Fighter Country Foundation, Wildlife World Zoo, and our newest community partner, Global Credit Union.

Earlier this year, Global Credit Union took the time to truly understand our mission. After experiencing an impact tour at Luke Air Force Base, they saw firsthand how we support the Men and Women serving at the world’s largest fighter wing—and more importantly, their Families. That understanding turned into action, and we’re grateful they jumped in with full commitment.

A very special thank you to the Luke Air Force Base Chaplain Corps—especially Chaplain Starr, TSgt Mendez and their team—who played a critical role in making this event possible. From coordinating logistics to connecting families, their leadership and dedication ensure these resiliency programs reach those who need them most. Simply put, without a strong team of chaplains, experiences like this wouldn’t happen.

Working alongside leadership at Luke AFB and the 161st Air Refueling Wing, this collaboration created a meaningful experience for so many families during a time when it matters most.

As deployments continue to increase, opportunities like this aren’t just appreciated—they’re essential.

I can’t believe it’s already been a week since the incredible Luke Days Open House & Air Show.

Despite the unexpected heat, it was an amazing event—and a powerful reminder of what makes this community so special.

Fighter Country Foundation was proud to play a role in supporting Luke Air Force Base throughout the weekend. Behind the scenes, that support means ensuring thousands of guests and important individuals are taken care of—our first responders, firefighters, police officers, EMS, and the many federal agencies working quietly in the crowd to keep everyone safe.

Fighter Country Foundation Recognizes Longstanding Relationship and Recent Support from Thunderbirds Charities

We are proud to share that the $10,000 grant from Thunderbirds Charities was directly applied to support Fighter Country Foundation’s Top Three Program Areas.

These program areas consist of programs and services designed to enhance Morale & Well-Being, Culture & Tradition, and Mission Sustainability. They are provided in direct support of military members and their families stationed at Luke Air Force Base and the 161st Air Refueling Wing.

During their time on station, these programs are designed to enhance overall quality of life, create positive distractions during challenging times, strengthen family connections, and ensure military members remain focused on both family and mission readiness.

Examples of these programs include our annual Holiday Dorm Party, Single Parent Retreats, Deployed Family Events, and many other mission-focused initiatives that support the Fighter Country community year-round.

As we continue building a multi-million dollar facility…
As we prepare to help support an air show expected to welcome 400,000 people…

We want to pause for a moment and remember why we do all of it.

The true impact of Fighter Country Foundation isn’t found in buildings or big attendance numbers.

It’s found in families.

It’s found in marriages being strengthened.
In children laughing at the zoo.
In caregivers finally getting a moment to rest.
In military members being reminded they are supported.

Take a moment to read these words from the military members and families we serve:
