❤️🤍💙🇺🇸Military Family Month is celebrated every November in the United States. It’s a time dedicated to recognizing and honoring the families of U.S. service members — those who support their loved ones serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, and Coast Guard, both active duty and reserve.

Military Family Month acknowledges the sacrifices, strength and resilience of military families who often face long separations, frequent relocations, and the stresses of deployment.

The observance was first acknowledged by President Bill Clinton in 1996 through a presidential proclamation and every U.S. president since has continued the tradition

Today and every day we honor our military families. Behind every service member is a network of loved ones who serve in their own way, supporting and navigating uncertainty and standing tall through every chapter of military life. Because when we support the family, we strengthen the hero.

An invitation from Mayor Jerry P. Weiers, Mayor of the City of Glendale

I’m excited to invite you to a very special event as we complete the Great American Flag Tour – a heartfelt journey flying the same locally made American flag over every state capitol across our country.

Now, the flag’s final stop is coming home to Arizona, which will mark 50 out of 50 states where I have flown the flag.

Please join me at the Arizona State Capitol on Saturday, October 25, at 10:00 a.m. as we proudly raise this remarkable flag over our state. This celebration honors our veterans and the unity, pride, and the spirit of America, and I would love for you to be part of it.

Come early, wear your red, white, and blue, and help us give this flag the warmest welcome home!

Office of Glendale Mayor Jerry P. Weiers

Blue Star Mother’s of America, Inc

The Blue Star Moms of the Southwest Valley is a local chapter of the Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) veterans service organization in central Arizona. Our chapter was originated December 2009, chartered in April 2010 and continues to be a strong organization made up of proud Moms who have, or have had children honorably serve in the military and have a desire to promote patriotism. Our organization is a non-partisan, non-political, non-sectarian organization with a strong desire to fulfill our mission of supporting active duty and veteran service members of the U.S. Armed Forces. We are a very special group of women, who work hard to support our military. Everyone is welcome, regardless of whether you have a child who is currently serving or has served in the military. Our fun loving group of Blue Star Moms would love for anyone to join us at a general meeting, packing party or scheduled event (check out the calendar for scheduled date and time of events).

Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. - The organization originated in 1942, during World War II, after a coupon was published by the Flint News Advertiser soliciting mothers of military servicemen. The positive response resulted in a gathering of women in Flint, Michigan at the Durant Hotel; this gathering February 6th, 1942 became the first official meeting and establish Blue Star Mothers as a permanent organization in the Congressional Record. In June of 1960 the organization was officially chartered by Congress. A Blue Star Moms unwavering love, appreciation and respect for our active duty military service men and women and veterans is manifested in all our good works. Together, the abundance of our love is seen in every package, letter and card we send to our military personnel and veteran.
