🎉 End-of-Season Team Party & Awards

What an incredible way to close out an unforgettable season.

Our End-of-Season Team Party this weekend was an absolute blast! The kids had an amazing time bowling, laughing, and just enjoying being together off the mat. It truly could not have gone any better.

🙏 A huge thank you to the team at Tivoli Bowl for hosting us and taking such great care of our group. Everything ran smoothly, the staff was incredibly helpful, and they made the day really special for our families. If you’re ever looking for a great spot for a party or event, we can’t recommend them enough!

As we wrapped up the day with our awards ceremony, it was a great opportunity to reflect on just how special this season was.

From the first day of practice back in December to the final whistle at Sectionals, this group showed up, worked hard, and committed themselves to getting better every single day. We saw incredible growth — not just in results, but in confidence, toughness, and the way these kids carried themselves on and off the mat.

We had first-year wrestlers accomplish things most kids don’t in their first season, athletes step up in big moments, and a team that pushed each other to get better week after week.

Most importantly, we built something bigger than wrestling — a team that supports each other, competes for each other, and takes pride in being part of the Dungeon.

🙏 To our coaches — thank you for the countless hours, weekends, and energy you poured into this program. This season does not happen without you.

🙏 And to our families — thank you. Your support, commitment, and belief in what we’re building is the foundation of everything we do. We are incredibly grateful.

This was a truly special season — one we won’t forget anytime soon. We couldn’t be more proud of this group and everything they accomplished together.

🏆 Team Award Winners:

• Ironman — Mason S.
• Most Wins — Hunter G.
• Most Pins — Aaron R. & Hunter G.
• Most Improved — Heyden K.
• Rookie of the Year — Miles D.
• Never Give Up — Jakob B.

🏆🤼‍♂️ IKWF Sectional – Tournament Recap

Sectionals marked the final chapter of our 2025–26 season, and we couldn’t be more proud of this group of wrestlers.

This year we watched our athletes grow in every possible way — building confidence, developing new skills, stepping outside their comfort zones, and learning what it means to compete with toughness and heart. From the first practices in December to the final whistle this weekend, the progress made by each and every one of our wrestlers was incredible.

On Saturday, 12 Dungeon wrestlers stepped onto the mat at the IKWF Sectional Tournament, representing our program with pride against some of the best competition in the state. The matches were intense and the margins were small, but our athletes battled hard and left everything they had on the mat.

We saw some huge moments throughout the day — including a few upset wins from wildcard wrestlers who proved they absolutely belonged on that stage. One of those matches even ended in a technical fall, which is a tremendous accomplishment at this level of competition.

We also had a wrestler come just one win away from punching his ticket to the State Tournament in Peoria, a reminder of just how competitive Sectionals truly is.

But what stood out most wasn’t just the matches — it was the way this team supported one another all season long. Teammates cheering from the sidelines, celebrating big moments, and standing together through the ups and downs. That culture is what the Dungeon is all about.

💚 Season Complete
For these wrestlers, Sectionals marked the end of their 2025–26 season:

Aiden A., Barrett T., Brady W., Gio S., Heyden K., Hunter G., Jackson K., Logan C., Mason S., Mason T., Miles D., Timmy M.

Each of them gave it their all this weekend and represented the Dungeon the right way. We’re incredibly proud of the effort, growth, and determination they showed throughout the year.

🙏 A big thank you to Oswego High School and the Oswego Wrestling program for hosting an outstanding Sectional Tournament. Events of this size take an incredible amount of work behind the scenes, and we appreciate the effort that went into making it such a well-run event.

And to our Dungeon families — thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, encouragement, and energy throughout the season. Your commitment to these athletes and this program makes everything we do possible, and we truly couldn’t do it without you.

It was an absolute honor and privilege to coach this team this season. The growth, toughness, and character these wrestlers showed all year long made this a special group to be a part of.

The work doesn’t stop here. We’ll get back in the room, keep building, and next season our goal is clear — we’re chasing a trip to Peoria for the State Championships.

GO DUNGEON!

🏆🤼‍♂️ IKWF Regional – Tournament Recap

When the stakes are high and the spotlight is bright, you learn a lot about a team.

Regionals was a tremendous day for the Dungeon. The gym was loud, the competition was intense, and the pressure was real — but our wrestlers rose to the occasion. They competed hard in every match, responded well to adversity, and represented the Dungeon all day long with toughness and class. We saw athletes who have grown tremendously over the past several months step onto the mat and compete with a new level of confidence and composure — proof of the work they’ve put in day after day.

All week we emphasized one simple thing: even though this is a big tournament, wrestling is supposed to be FUN! So relax, trust your training, wrestle free, and leave it all on the mat.

And that’s exactly what they did.

What stood out most wasn’t just the wins — it was the way this team supported one another. Teammates cheering through tight matches, celebrating big moments, and even navigating a few Dungeon vs. Dungeon battles with maturity and sportsmanship. It was awesome to see this group come together when it mattered most.

This was a day that reflected months of hard work, commitment, and belief in one another — and our wrestlers gave us every reason to be proud.

🥇 Tournament Results:
2nd Place Finisher: Jasper G.
3rd Place Finisher: Heyden K.

🤼‍♂️➡️ Sectional Qualifiers:
The following wrestlers punched their ticket to IKWF Sectionals next weekend:

Aiden A., Barrett T., Brady W., Gio S., Heyden K., Hunter G., Jackson K., Jasper G., Logan C., Mason S., Mason T., Miles D., and Timmy M.

💚 Season Complete
For several of our wrestlers, Regionals marked the end of their 2026 season. While they may not be advancing to Sectionals, their effort, growth, and commitment this year did not go unnoticed.

Edward S., Gavin M., Jakob B., Joseph K., Logan S., and Seamus D.

Each of them competed with heart and represented the Dungeon the right way. We’re incredibly proud of them and excited for what’s ahead.

🙏 A sincere thank you to the VPYW Wrestling Club for hosting an outstanding Regional Tournament. The event was extremely well run from start to finish, and we appreciate the time and effort that goes into organizing a tournament of that caliber.

And to our Dungeon families — thank you. Your energy in the stands, your organization behind the scenes, and your unwavering support throughout a long day of competition means a lot to our program. The Dungeon is a special place because of the incredible families who stand behind it, and days like Sunday are a perfect reminder of that.

Sectionals are up next. The work continues, the standard stays high, and we’re ready for the challenge.

Let’s go get it!

🏆🤼‍♂️ Junior Thunderbolt – Tournament Recap

What a great way to close out the regular season for the Dungeon!

We are extremely proud of the way our wrestlers competed this weekend at the Junior Thunderbolt. Across the board, we saw some of the highest levels of effort, composure, and toughness our team has shown all season. Our athletes battled through challenging matches, won tight decisions, and secured exciting overtime victories — exactly the kind of progress we want to see as we head into postseason competition.

Most encouraging of all is how our wrestlers are continuing to learn how to WRESTLE. Fighting for key points when they matter, maintaining strong positions, staying disciplined, and taking control of important moments. Watching our athletes manage close matches with growing confidence was a highlight of the day for our coaching staff.

Another standout moment was the incredible team support on display. Wrestlers stayed after their own matches to cheer on teammates, coaches continued working with athletes long after their sessions had wrapped up, and families came together to support the entire Dungeon team. That kind of culture is what makes this program special and continues to strengthen our group each week.

🥇 Tournament Results:
1st Place Finishers: Aaron R., Ethan M., Jasper G.
2nd Place Finishers: Jagger D., Jax D.
3rd Place Finishers: Bodhi R., Emmett D., Franklin K., Noah W., Timmy M.

A big thank you to the Tinley Park Bulldogs Wrestling Club for hosting a fantastic tournament and providing a great competitive experience for our athletes.

🙌 Thank you as well to all our parents, coaches, and families for the incredible support throughout the day. Your commitment to the team — and to one another — helps make this program what it is.

Yesterday's tournament was a strong momentum builder for us as we head into Regionals and the IKWF postseason, and we’re excited to keep building from here.

🏆🤼‍♂️ Winter Fiesta – Tournament Recap

We’re very proud of how our wrestlers performed this weekend at the Winter Fiesta. Following a focused and productive week in the practice room, our athletes stepped onto the mat ready to compete with energy, confidence, and attention to the details that matter most.

This week, our emphasis was simple: bring full effort, take ownership of your work, and sharpen the fundamentals. It was great to see our wrestlers carry those habits into competition on Sunday — and the results reflected the work they put in.

Moments like these remind us that growth in wrestling comes from steady habits, daily commitment, and a willingness to keep pushing forward, and this group continues to move in the right direction.

🥇 Tournament Results:
2nd Place Finishers: Aaron R., Barrett T., Ethan M., Heyden K., Hunter G., Mason T., Miles D., Timmy M., Timothy D.
3rd Place Finishers: Bennett S., Brady W., Gio S., Jasper G., Mason S.

We also want to extend a sincere thank you to all of our Dungeon parents who came out to support the team this weekend. We know the early mornings, long tournament days, and busy schedules require a real commitment, and we truly appreciate everything you do to help make these opportunities possible for our athletes. Your continued support means a great deal to our wrestlers and to our program.

We’re looking forward to another strong week of practice as we head into our final regular-season tournament and begin preparing for Regionals and the IKWF postseason.

🏆🤼‍♂️ Lemont Bears Bash – Tournament Recap

Thank you to all the families who came out to support the Dungeon this weekend at the Lemont Bears Bash. This tournament was a tough test for our wrestlers, and it served as an important reminder of what makes wrestling such a rewarding sport. The challenges we face on the mat are learning opportunities, and they’re what teach us how to get back up, grow, and keep showing up day after day.

Even on a tough day, we saw athletes step up in big ways. We had wrestlers competing in their first tournament of the season, big overtime wins, kids battling for hard-earned victories, and moments of resilience that we can build on moving forward. Progress in wrestling takes time, consistency, and reps — and this group is absolutely capable of rising to that challenge.

Tough tournaments and setbacks don’t define us — how we respond to them does. We’ll take what we learned this weekend, get back to work in the room, and keep getting better.

🥇 Tournament Results:
1st Place Finishers: Jasper G., Jax D.
2nd Place Finishers: Barrett T., Heyden K.
3rd Place Finishers: Aaron R., Bodhi R., Ethan M., Jackson K., Miles K., Noah W.

A big thank you to the Lemont Bears Wrestling Club and coaching staff for running a well-organized tournament and providing a great competitive experience for our athletes.

🙏 We also want to give a HUGE thank you to our assistant coaches, whose time, energy, and dedication to these kids is truly unmatched. Tournament days are long, demanding, and full of moving pieces, and we absolutely could not do this without the support they provide to our program. The way they show up, coach, encourage, and invest in our wrestlers makes a major difference.

And as always, thank you to our Dungeon parents. Your support on the hard days and the good days alike makes a huge difference for these kids and for our program.

We’re going to keep building — one brick at a time.
