DogPack Rex is only 3 years old. After being abandoned by the person he trusted, he was terrified, angry and unsure of humans. But since arriving at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, he has made incredible progress.

He needs a patient home where he can take his time getting comfortable, and he must be the only pet. A large toy collection is also strongly encouraged.

Let’s find Tank a home!! Information is below! ❤️

Boroughbred in Queens Adopted! Even though Tank has been here for 2 months, we were just getting to know him. In mid July his owner reportedly walked into a police station and said they could no longer care for him, dropped his leash and left. Police brought this boy with the wayward ears to the shelter where he’s been since. Tank has gotten special attention from our behavior team, and improved enough that he was just made available to our more experienced volunteers. When we met him finally we saw a shy boy, with amazing ears, and sad eyes. At 4 he still had a puppyish look to him - maybe it’s the ears that seem like they haven’t settled on their final spot or the innocence that he still seems to have somehow. Tank ate our treats and accepted our pets and let us admire his ears graciously.

But Tank’s fear has not improved enough and now he’s at risk for euthanasia, in hopes of finding him a place outside the shelter where he’s may decompress and show all his personality. Another influential voice is speaking out for Morocco’s dogs.
Actor and animal advocate Peter Egan explains why he would not visit Morocco while dogs are being shot, poisoned, violently captured and confined-and calls for a humane, effective solution instead.
Morocco’s dogs do not need to be erased for tourism or the 2030 World Cup. They need a national CNVR programme: vaccination, sterilisation and return to their communities.
The world is watching. Morocco still has the opportunity to choose compassion, public safety and lasting change.

All 7 of our rabbits at the shelter were found abandoned outside fending for themselves. 

Here’s the heartbreaking reality is that 90% of the shelters on Long Island do not take in rabbits. That means when someone abandons a rabbit, there are very limited places for them to turn.

Through our Rescue Right Here program, we are also partnering with Evelyn Alexander Wildlife to help two rabbits who came from a hoarding situation find loving forever homes.

As the East Ends only open admission shelter, here’s how you can help today:

This happened four nights ago in a Tennessee shelter. The puppy is Rocky, a seven-month-old Pit Bull seized from a terrible situation last week. Covered in scars and healing wounds. Absolutely traumatized. Won’t eat. Won’t move from the corner. Just shakes constantly and flinches at every sound. The older dog is Bailey, a thirteen-year-old Labrador who’s been at shelter for six years. Never adopted because he’s “too old” and has expensive medical needs. Staff put them together because the facility was at capacity.
Security footage from 11:20 PM shows Bailey waking up, watching Rocky trembling in the corner, then slowly standing. Bailey has severe arthritis. Moving is painful. But he walked carefully across the kennel.
Laid down beside Rocky. Wrapped his body around him protectively. By morning, Rocky had stopped shaking. Was pressed against Bailey’s side. Actually sleeping peacefully for the first time since arriving.
Shelter director Maria told: “Bailey has done this with nineteen scared, traumatized dogs over six years. He’s never been adopted because he’s senior, moves slowly, and needs daily medication. But he’s comforted nineteen broken souls just by lying beside them and showing them what gentle feels like.” Sometimes the one nobody adopts carries the greatest gift-teaching the terrified what safety looks like.

Rescue Paw and Bruce Blakeman helped to promote her and let people know she needed a loving home.
She has another Sheperd to live the rest of her life with and they have already bonded! It takes a village !!!

The Humane Society of Morocco 🌍🏆⚽️🇲🇦🐕☠️ A BLOODY WORLD CUP

The CANINE GENOCIDE in Morocco: the hidden price of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

FIFA World Cup 2030.
3 million community dogs.
One question: how many of them will still be alive to see it?

Morocco wants to show the world modern cities, magnificent stadiums and a World Cup worthy of the occasion.

But behind the perfect postcard, another story is unfolding.

🐕 Dogs that have lived for years within their communities are being violently captured.

💔 Animals that have done nothing wrong are disappearing from the streets.

🔫 Testimonies, videos and our investigations have documented dogs being shot, poisoned or killed out of sight in facilities presented to the international public as “animal shelters”, but which are in reality nothing less than “animal extermination centers”.

🚪 Behind the closed doors of these facilities, too many questions remain unanswered.

Inside, the Moroccan state is carrying out a campaign on an unprecedented scale aimed at making dogs disappear.

A campaign that is not responding to any crime committed by these animals, but rather to a desire to control their presence in public spaces — particularly as an international event approaches that will put Morocco under the spotlight of the entire world.

When entire animal populations are targeted and killed simply because of what they are and where they live, we refused to remain silent.

We launched an international alert.

This is ETHNIC CLEANSING of an animal community.

The Moroccan state refuses to acknowledge the scale of the killings and does not provide us with the official number of dogs killed.

According to our investigation, more than 750,000 dogs are killed every year.

This is MASS CANICIDE.

The scale of this crime is impossible to ignore.

And the timing reveals a disturbing fact:

The World Cup is being used as a pretext to make Morocco’s streets look “more modern” — at the cost of animal lives.

This is not about football.
