Why are we already sending out a “save the date” for next year — a mere 2 days after MLK DAY GLEN COVE last Monday?

Because it’s a BIG one! The BIG 40! In 2024!

The 40th Anniversary march and commemorative program & service project in honor of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will make for the most amazing MLK DAY GLEN COVE ever!

We thank the City of Glen Cove, Glen Cove School District and King Commission for hosting the oldest, continuous KING march and program in the country.

So Glen Cove and neighboring communities —let’s lean into history made in our back and front yards and keep making history! Let’s celebrate this distinction of honoring Dr. King!

In March we will be sending out invitations to volunteer, help organize and get the word out about this HUGE event next year. There is room and tasks for all: individuals, families, Seniors, schools, businesses, your office, every organization, non profits, Houses of Worship, restaurants, sports teams and more! What an honor for NOSH Delivers and AHRC NASSAU to be asked by the City of Glen Cove to co-host the first MLK DAY of SERVICE! And on the 39th annual program & march no less!

This community and NOSH & AHRC volunteers were awesome—donating and packing the grocery ingredients for 1000 meals for families of five struggling with soaring food prices. We would@like to thank the DUO youth group from St. John’s of Lattingtown for their significant work on this service project.

Thank you King Commission for trusting our two organizations with this important mission and vision. It was a huge honor to introduce and organize this very important new feature to MLK DAY GLEN COVE.

Through the leadership of Stanfort Perry, Executive Director of AHRC and a King Commission Board Member and NOSH Board Chair Christine Rice —their organizations have made serving the vulnerable in our communities their top priority. Doing this together in service to connecting people Dr. Kings legacy in a hands on way on the very day is key to our mission.

The 39th Annual Commemorative Program in honor of the great American hero, The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was as poignant, electrifying and inspiring as ever because of the passion and purpose of our community to live out MLK’s action based blueprint for equality and dignity for all.

Yesterday each and every seat of the Wunsch Arts Center was filled with this community’s leaders whether 90 or 5 year’s old! All Inspired by the tremendous roster of singers (Glen Cove High school Select Chorale) , dancers (The Esota Dance Company) , poetry (Victoria Crosby as read by Gaitley Stevenson Mathews) speeches by Stanfort Perry (AHRC NASSAU) and Matt Hofele and and comforting words of God’s word, grace and blessings upon us all by Pastor Williams ( Invication) and Mother Catherine (Benediction) and many more listed in the program bulletin.

Thank you Glen Cove for your amazing support whether marching, attending or participating in the King Commemorative program or volunteering at the NOSH & AHRC NASSAU service project or giving generously to the food raiser!
