COMMUNITY ACTION MONTH FAMILY DAY AT GLEN COVE EOC

Community Action Month Family Day, presented by Glen Cove EOC in collaboration with Glen Cove Gardens Development LLC, brought together community organizations, service providers, families, and residents for an afternoon of information, resources, activities, entertainment, and community connection.

Under the leadership of Program Director Mrs. Irma Jeanty, and with the support of staff, board members, volunteers, participating organizations, and Glen Cove Gardens Development LLC, the event was another wonderful example of community members coming together in service to others. It was also an honor to welcome Eric Poulson, CEO of EOC of Nassau County, along with leaders and representatives from EOCs across Long Island.

A special thank you to Gail and Wendy Waller for sponsoring the raffle table, which added to the fun and excitement of the day. A special shoutout as well to Ms. Tanya and the talented dancers from Glen Dance Studio for a wonderful performance and for sharing their talents with those in attendance.

Community Action Month is a reminder of the important work being done every day to connect people with resources, opportunities, and support while strengthening our community. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this year's Family Day a success.



That appropriately recognizes Irma's leadership while also acknowledging the board, volunteers, partners, and community organizations that helped make the event happen.

CELEBRATING MOTHERS AT GLEN COVE EOC
Last Friday’s Mother’s Day luncheon with the Golden Legacy Seniors at Glen Cove EOC was a wonderful celebration filled with friendship, laughter, and community spirit. The event, coordinated through Glen Cove EOC’s Golden Legacy initiative under the direction of Program Director Mrs. Irma Jeanty and with the support of board members and volunteers, brought together seniors, community partners, and friends for a very special afternoon. We would also like to thank Mark Medical Care for attending the event and providing information and resources to those in attendance. Wishing all mothers a very Happy Mother’s Day! 🌷

Fresh fruits, vegetables and other foods full of protein were distributed to hundreds of Glen Cove residents last week, when the Farm to Truck program stopped at the city’s Economic Opportunity Commission of Nassau County office in Glen Cove, expanding access to nutritious food as grocery costs continue to rise.

Operated by Long Island Cares, a nonprofit organization and the main food bank on Long Island, the mobile initiative delivers fresh, locally sourced produce directly to communities using a refrigerated truck designed to function like a small farmers market. The program gives residents a chance to choose their own food based on family size, rather than receiving pre-packed bags.
