The American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary health organization. Its purpose is to help prevent two of America's leading killers, heart disease and stroke. The AHA is an advocate of good health, promoting positive behaviors, nutritious eating habits and healthy lifestyles. We are so grateful to everyone in the New River Valley who showed up to help save lives this morning! As you can see, the 2026 NRV Heart Walk was a fabulous event, made more special thanks to all of the sponsors, volunteers, community teams and survivors who joined us for this special event! Thanks to all of you for helping us in our fight against heart disease and stroke - the #1 and #4 killers of Americans!

It was a DOG-gone good time at the NRV Heart Walk as we celebrated our four-legged friends with the Pup Parade! Dogs can help us live longer, healthier lives, making them a welcome addition to the Heart Walk!

Thank you to this year's Central Virginia Hard Hats with Heart Chairperson! ❤️

Approximately 1 in 25 construction workers has been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease. Hard Hats with Heart is a campaign dedicated to creating safe working environments where workers are encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyles and prepare for cardiac emergencies on and off the job site.

Please join us in thanking Shirley for her leadership over this year's Hard Hats with Heart campaign!
