We are a nonprofit animal rescue that saves stray, neglected, and abandoned Aruban dogs. We are a proud member of the Caribbean Rescue Coalition.

Created from the passion and determination of our founding member Natalya Yermak, New Life for Paws’ mission is to rescue as many stray, neglected, and abandoned Aruban dogs as possible while also advocating for spay/neuter programs to reduce the overwhelming amount of street dogs on the island. We provide shelter, food, and veterinary treatment for each of the rescues save. Everything our small but mighty team does is on a volunteer basis – and our work is only possible due to donations made by people like you!

👑🚙 INTRODUCING RIVER, THE CUTEST LITTLE PASSENGER PRINCE!

Make way for His Royal Highness, River! He is looking for a castle to call his own, and trust us, once this boy decides you’re his person, you’re going to have a very devoted little shadow! 🐾

He’s a nervous little guy who can startle easily, but he’s already making wonderful progress. And underneath that shy exterior? A total SNUGGLE BUG! ❤️

📅 Age: Approximately 6 months old

⚖️ Weight: 18 lbs (weighed 10/30)

👧 Children: River has mostly been around adults. Young, rambunctious kids might be overwhelming for him, but calmer or older children could be a great fit.

🐶 Dogs: He’s a slow burn and needs a little time to warm up, but once comfortable, he’s very friendly. He loves playing with his foster sibling and even snuggles up with them!

🐈 Cats: Untested, but his foster thinks he could potentially do just fine with cats.

🚽 Potty Training: Doing really well! He doesn’t have the best cues yet, so keeping him on a consistent schedule helps him stay on track. He’s making great progress!

🏡 Crate Training: He doesn’t make much of a fuss once he’s in there, but willingly walking into his crate? That’s apparently beneath royalty. 😂 His foster sometimes has to help him along with a little bribe!

🌙 Sleeping Routine: Sleeps in his crate through the night.

🚙 Car Rides: Mostly good in the car, although he can be a little nervous. He slept the entire ride home from the airport like the cutest passenger prince in first class! 👑

🦮 Leash Skills: Walks haven’t been introduced yet because he’s still building confidence. For now, he feels safest pottying in his foster’s fenced-in yard.

❤️ Personality: Shy and cautious at first, but once River feels safe, his sweet personality really shines! He’s a snuggly bug who loves following his foster around and being close to his people. He even has the cutest little whine when he thinks he’s not getting enough attention 🤣

He may not be the boldest puppy at the party, but he just might be the sweetest little prince you’ll ever meet!

🚨 RANGER UPDATE! 🚨

POV: You’re a 28-pound package of puppy chaos, cuddles, and absolutely zero regrets. 😂🐾

Meet Ranger! This handsome little guy is 7 months old and ready to find his forever family. ❤️

His personality is really starting to shine, and his foster family has plenty of good things to report!

🐶 A little about Ranger:

⚖️ Approximately 28 lbs
📅 7 months old
👧 Kids: Hasn’t interacted with children yet, but he’s about to get his first experience! Stay tuned for an update.
🐶 Does well with other dogs! He’s been enjoying supervised playtime with his foster brother Hawthorne (formerly Cairo, also an NLFP alum). He does have some resource-guarding tendencies, which his foster family is actively working on.
🐈 Cats: Unknown
🚽 Potty training: Making great progress! He’s getting better at letting his humans know when he needs to go, although consistency and frequent trips outside are still important.
🏡 Crate training: Still working on it!
😴 Sleeps through the night, whether it’s in his bed, on the floor, or wherever he gets cozy.
🚗 Car rides: A good little passenger who enjoys catching some Zzz’s.
🎾 Favorite things: Playing fetch, chasing frisbees, exploring the yard, and spending time with his people.

🎃 AND NOW FOR THE LATEST PUPDATE!

This little dude is a silly, goofy, roly-poly ball of personality! He’s eating like a champ, enjoying supervised playdates with his foster brother, and making great progress with potty training.

He’s still got plenty of puppy energy, but it comes in adorable little bursts followed by one very important activity: NAP TIME. 😂

Ranger is still learning, growing, and figuring out this big world. He’ll need a family willing to continue his training, provide structure, and give him the patience every growing puppy deserves.

🥐👩‍🍳 MEET DARLA, YOUR FUTURE FAVORITE BAKING ASSISTANT! 🐾❤️

Darla takes her job in the kitchen VERY seriously. Her specialties include supervising the mixing bowl, taste-testing absolutely nothing (for now 😉), keeping your feet warm, and providing unlimited wiggles while you bake. 😂

But when she’s not busy being the cutest little sous chef, Darla is an absolute sweetheart!

We need fosters in New Jersey, Long Island, Westchester County, NY, Connecticut & Rhode Island as soon as NEXT WEEK!

These puppies need temporary fosters for just 2–3 weeks to get them off the island and into loving homes while they wait for adoption.

Meet Myst 🩷 The quiet little girl who is just waiting for someone to show her that the world isn’t such a scary place. 🥹

At 6 months old and only 20 pounds, Myst is a gentle, shy soul who is slowly but surely coming out of her shell. She’s not the puppy who will run into a room demanding everyone’s attention. She’s more of an observer, taking it all in before deciding she’s ready to join the fun. And honestly? Watching her blossom is going to be one of the sweetest things.

Once she starts feeling comfortable, you’ll find a girl who loves her toys, has claimed the couch as her new favorite spot, and enjoys simply being near her people. She sleeps quietly in her crate all night, walks nicely on a leash, is mostly potty trained, and is good with other dogs and cats!

💕 A little more about Mystie:
🐾 6 months old
⚖️ Approximately 20 lbs
💉 Up to date on vaccinations
🐶 Good with other dogs and would LOVE a confident canine sibling
🐈 Good with cats
👧 Has been around adults and teens, children are untested
🚽 Mostly potty trained
🏡 Crate trained and sleeps peacefully all night
🦮 Walking nicely on leash
🚙 Still working on enjoying car rides

Myst will need a patient adopter who understands that confidence takes time. A confident, friendly resident dog would be a wonderful role model for her, along with someone committed to continuing her socialization and gently showing her that new experiences, new people, and the big world aren’t so frightening after all.

She doesn’t need a perfect home. She needs a safe one. A cozy bed, a full belly, some toys, a couch to call her own, and someone who will let her blossom at her own pace.

Please give this sweet girl a chance. Her person is out there, and she deserves to find them. 🏡

Meet REMI! This 6-month-old, 25 lb bundle of perfection is basically the puppy everyone hopes to find when they start looking for their new best friend. Seriously, her foster says she is THE BEST PUPPY! 🐾

😇 HELLO DOLLY!!! 🐶💕
Small AND scruffy?! We almost never get this combination!!! 🥹 We rarely have smaller Cunucus and scruffy pups are just as unusual for us so this little girl is a VERY SPECIAL PUPPY!!! ❤️ Dolly is the smallest of her litter at just 13 pounds at 6 months old!!! 🐾 We cannot promise her grown up size but right now she is one petite little sweetheart!!! 🥰 This special litter was named in honor of the much loved Dolly Parton and our Dolly has plenty of charm and star power of her own!!! 🌟 She is happy friendly and social with the sweetest scruffy face!!! 😍 Spayed and up to date on vaccinations 💕 Fostered with our amazing Glenda so you know she is coming from love and kindness!
