Congratulations to Mya Williams, a graduate of Excelsior Springs High School and recipient of the Jason Merrill Memorial Scholarship, administered by Boost KC. Mya is heading to the University of Central Missouri to pursue her passion for music and her goal of becoming a music educator. Her resilience, leadership, kindness and determination have helped prepare her for this exciting next step. As Mya heads to UCM this fall, we are proud to celebrate her accomplishments and the bright future ahead.

Congratulations to our 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place teams at this year's D***s for a Difference pickleball tournament! Thank you for bringing your competitive spirit, great sportsmanship and enthusiasm to the courts. 🏆

We're grateful to everyone who participated and helped make the tournament such a fun and successful event. Thanks to your support, D***s for a Difference netted approximately $4,000, with all proceeds supporting Boost KC's programs.

As we wrap up D***s for a Difference, we simply want to say thank you. To every player, volunteer, sponsor and supporter who helped make the tournament such a success — thank you for your time, enthusiasm and generosity. Whether you competed on the courts, worked behind the scenes or cheered others on, you helped create a day filled with fun, camaraderie and community spirit.

Most importantly, your participation will have a lasting impact beyond the pickleball courts. One of Boost KC’s philanthropic programs focuses on building interest in service among our community’s youth. VolunTeens provides opportunities for students in grades 7-12 to complete community service projects that positively impact the lives of others.

At their June meeting, 14 VolunTeens joined with Boost KC adult members to ready Scholastic books for this fall’s Threads2Thrive sessions. The teens placed stickers in 1,809 new books that elementary students will choose and take home this fall. The stickers remind students and their parents that the books – and clothing and hygiene supplies – are provided by Boost KC.

We love seeing our programs making a difference in the community! 💙 A big thank you to the Clay County Sheriff's Office for highlighting two of Boost KC's philanthropic programs. Their deputies distribute our Boost Bears to provide comfort during difficult moments, and our Boost Bundles hygiene kits help meet immediate needs for individuals experiencing crisis or hardship.

We're grateful for community partners who help extend our reach and ensure these items get into the hands of those who need them most. Thank you, Clay County Sheriff's Office, for your partnership and for all you do to serve our community! 🧸💙

Thank you to Boost KC for providing these brand new bears our deputies can hand out to children on calls for service and these care packages deputies can give to individuals experiencing homelessness. These help us better connect with and serve our community.
